Yes. He took an HC job back home in Louisiana.

Don't want to hijack the thread but how do you guys see MC vs Pikeville shaking out in the PCB?

Pikeville should not have any trouble. Probably slow starting in 1st QTR. Pikeville up comfortably by mid 3rd

Same as I did before this news. Pikeville by 3-4 touchdowns.

Maynard hasnt impressed me. His offense does not work and he has yet to really win important games like Raceland ashland and recently greenup. I have a hard time putting russell in the top 10 until something changes.

Any projections on who wins each district?

Pikeville by 2 TDs.

Pikeville with a running clock over MC in the late 3rd early 4th but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was early than that

How many kids have left Belfry and went back home to Mingo Central in the last couple of months and why have they?

Russell plays too soft to be considered a top tier 3A team. Itâs so funny because for years some of their fans were tired of Ivanâs run heavy offense and now after a few years of Maynardâs chuck and duck system theyâre longing for the return of the wing-t.

None have âwent back homeâ The Birchfield kid has always been a Belfry kid. Not sure why he left or the circumstances around it....but I do wish him well. Good player. Heâll do fine at MC. To my knowledge, there hasnât been any other football kids transfer
Belfry did have a kid who played basketball transfer to MC....but I donât know the kid or the circumstances

I like to trade zingers with Belfry fans as much as anyone but in all seriousness I have no idea why someone would send their kid to MC over Belfry, unless a parent took a job there...

Iâd say one reason was because of the 50 some days of school he missed this pass year

Keep preaching brother!!! Amen!! None of those people who for years who dawged me are man enough to show their faces! The truth is an unforgiving tale my friends!! Hell one year on the radio after the last game he talked about cutting kids and blamed the senior class. A grown man blaming kids!

The current superintendent did such a great job ousting Ivan and picking the new coach.... not!!!! He fired Ivan over his own ego when all coach wanted to do was coach. Iâve never met a more humble man than Ivan and never known a less one than Russellâs current superintendent and his head coach hire. The not playing seniors on senior night is disgusting as long as Russell keeps this BS up they will never be title contenders.

We will never be relevant again until Maynard is gone from Russell. He wonât change cause then heâd have to admit he was wrong. Iâm ashamed he dawned the same uniforms and colors as me. Iâm done being nice the kids are there Russell should be better no doubt in my mind.

To my knowledge heâs been in the Belfry school system since school age. However....I do believe he has a parent who now works in the Mingo school district in some capacity. Guessing that played a role in the move. He was slated to see time on the D-Line.... it not starter minutes. Definitely hurts our depth

There is a lot of talent passing thru in the next 2 years.. We get to watch them pass right on thru in schemes that donât even come close to fitting their God given talents and strengths.
