Raceland tried really hard to give the game away at the end. The pass play on third down did not make any sense. Does Raceland not have a kicking game again? Why not go for a field goal.
If Greenup gets one or two people who can consistently catch the ball they will be tough to beat.

^ Raceland seems to always try to get cute in games with these type situations.

GC played hard Sammons was a stud just not enough playmakers to help him out. Raceland very dangerous if they can clean up the mental mistakes. GC would have beaten a lot of teams tonight even with all the drops

Prayers for the Greenup player! I watched the video and it was just a bang, bang play, no bad hit at all. Greenup Actually should have won this game!! too many drops, one in the end zone! Greenup should be really good this year. Grizzle is a top coach at a young age!!

Rams looking ahead to Panthers.

Greenup played their asses off and this game was very fitting to both teams senior groups. They have been in dogfights all their football lives against each other. Hope the kid that took that shot is okay (number 12) as well as 22, I believe is the farrow kid. Tonight was the first time I saw Eli in a true D1 light. He put alot of throws right on the money, the recievers just couldnt hang onto the ball. Greenup is light years ahead of where they were a year ago. Hats off to them for a hard fought game.
My Rams. Man just big mental mistakes in bad times and our issues in the redzone have got to get cleaned up. Run game was just kind of weak and at times seemed to not even exist. Greenup made some good adjustments but Lewis and Cox made some really dynamic plays and Jake Wallace made a big time catch at the end. The boys fought hard.
To both teams and both groups of seniors. Things could have gotten chippy and they did at times, but both sides even with all of the jawing and pushing and shoving after the whistle, it never got out of hand. I've had the joy of coaching for or coaching against both senior groups when they were in the JFL. This game was the embodiment of what a rivalry game should be. Good luck to Greenup the rest of the way. They have a real shot at making a run if they can keep from dropping balls. The run game is vastly improved.

Rams turn the ball over on downs inside the ten 4 times tonight...I think it was four! Had one TD taking off the board for a crack back block! Yeah I would say we tried to give it away! Don’t get me wrong the GC kids played hard and fought to the end they should be proud of the way they played tonight!
If Raceland can’t figure how to run block they will do good to go 5-5! If through the air is the way of the Rams these year then the coaches need to really work on some finesse in some of their passing routes cause we are not going to be able to run deep routes all year against better competition! Lots of work to do!! Lots!

Good wake up call for this team. Canât walk out of the plastic goat and just expect to win football games

Hats off to GC Eli and bunch played hard till the end prayers to the kid that was injured the game was not what I thought it would be rams with some work to do

Eli played great , heâs the best QB in eastern kY for sure , he proved a lot tonight by running the way he did , coach salmons got out coached tonight which is the norm
Most Friday nights , he couldnât coach a starving dog off a porch with a steak , offense Iâd so predictable and throwing the ball on third down with seconds left was about as dumb as you can get but rest assured it will be the kids fault not executing his great game plan

Definitely not what I thought it would be. I guess the bright spot to all this is you can play that crappy and still win the game.

See alot of unhappy Ram fans. Relax fellas, it's the first game of the year. But I get it I guess. We tend to be harder on our own team. From what I personally seen from Raceland, the Rams will have a very successful season. Congrats on the win.

Youâre probably right. We made a lot of mistakes tonight. Mistakes we wonât be able to make in November. I could be totally off base but some of it may have been reading and believing our own press clippings.

Big win for 1A Raceland, You guys won by 3 big win in my book :blondetea

Fumbled the ball 5 times

The Raceland QB had a tough game holding on to the ball and running. He had a good game passing, though. It doesnât look like Raceland has any running backs they have confidence in. When in doubt, the QB runs it. I wonder if he makes it through the season. The Raceland line isnât as strong as it has been. Cox and Lewis were great, though. They are the reason the Rams will have success.
Sammons showed that he is the best QB in the area and maybe the best in the state. He made throws you rarely see in high school. Greenup receivers dropped so many passes that hit them squarely in the chest or hands. If Greenup receivers improve, they could win some games this season. If not, it will be another typical Musketeer season. Sammons proved he is the real deal, though.

Raceland seems very one dimensional this year. They do have a nice passing game. If GC had Racelands receivers they would have won by 2-3 scores.

Paintsville looks like the better team to me. After watching Raceland yesterday I'm gonna say the Tigers are 2 scores better than the Rams

Like I said...long season for the Rams! We got O lineman that don’t wanna run block! They just stand up and lay on a D lineman!Thats not a talent thing that’s a want to thing...the only way you fix that is with new lineman!
08-25-2019, 04:22 PM
Raceland O line is not taught how to run block , their blocking scheme is a joke they are not taught to fire off the ball itâs more like they are taught to get in the way of the defender , the line coach is more interested in watching YouTube videos and trying stuff he sees in there instead of teaching fundamentals, Raceland has plenty enough big athletic lineman to be able to run the ball IF they were taught how to run block

Racelands line coach is good enough to get to 4 state semifinals in the last 6 years and you wanna act like heâs garbage? Francis is one of the best line coaches in the state and Raceland is lucky to have him. Theyâll figure out the blocking and who deserves to play. It was only week 1.
08-25-2019, 05:32 PM
Francis is not a good coach , the perception is heâs a good like coach but plan and simple heâs not , look at Racelands line and tell me why they canât run the ball , he donât teach fundamentals

Congratulations to Raceland, game one is in the books.

Why are we even talking about a line coach?? He teaches what the head coach thrills him to!There is no need to talk about position coaches at the high school level it comes down to one man and one man only!
08-25-2019, 05:37 PM
I know they say you see the biggest improvements in a team between week one and week two but for the Rams to beat Russell next week they need to take giant leaps forward!

Trying to share my love for the both of them

Was a lot of false hype I feel after playing a depleted Belfry team close w/ a new QB & 4 studs on the sideline. This is more of a realistic outing by the Rams. Theyâll keep improving & be a factor in November.

I agree with this statement! I feel they wont survive the second round of the playoffs but there is a lot of football till then....letâs see if the line can improve any at all! Good luck to Greenup the rest of the year! I feel if they keep improving they could win 6 or 7 games this year.

After a nights sleep I took this away from the game. How good is either team? Is greenup that much improved? Is our run game doomed? Can we be creative enough in the passing attack to compensate? We were exposed on one side of the secondary last night. Lots to clean up.
