Russell @ Ironton, OH 9/6
#1
Can Russell go into Ironton and pull out a win against a good fighting tiger team,or will Ironton be too much?
#2
:pondering: Russell just maybe better than folks thinks. Myself I’m a believer

Russell 28
Ironton OH 14

Ironton is way more physical than Russell and Irontons defense is lights out , gonna be a long night for the devils

Russell. 6

Ironton wins easy. Very good Russell team is no match for a very good Ironton team at Tank!!
#5
Ironton. Home of where the referees walk right out of the house and onto the field.
#6
And the scoreboard reads 14-0 when they flip it on
#7
Only place where when they jump on a fumble the referee blows his whistle and screams OUR BALL!
#8
Russell can win this game. I’m the biggest pessimist on here. I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t believe it!
#9
Raceland where the Refs can’t help you Bc your so bad
#10
Russell is going to pull the upset on Friday night. It's going to be a battle because both teams want to win by playing very physical football, but I like the swagger and attitude of this Russell team. They are going to shock the Tigers with their hard hitting style.

Man leave kids alone they lost there QB last night . Would they have beat Russell no but it would have been a game . You left here because you hated it fine. But stop the we are so bad crap. 4 Semi Finals in 6 years is a good program . They are 1 and 1 this year and still can reach there goals with alot of hard work. Good luck in Ironton but focus on your kids and quit trashing our coach and program .

Your coach is a bully , i rally don’t care about. The state finals ( which my son started in and my other son helped coach ) or any other game . I don’t trash kids like your coach does so go lay down somewhere

Devils finally decide to play power football and give it right back to the Tigers. Devils upset an overconfident Tiger team!

Devils 21

Tigers 20

Two things aren’t going to happen for sure , Russel will not come to ironton and out physically play them and Ironton will not be over confident, coaching staff way to good for that . If Russell has any chance they have to create turnovers and turn them into points and don’t have any of their own . I don’t see that happening this ironton team is just to physical for Russell , irontons front seven is the best in the state in their division
#22
How good is Russell? What are the strong points and weak points?
#23
The Devils are essentially attempting power football out of a single wing formation via the shotgun . It’s an odd formation that could fool Ironton. If devils can make Ironton earn what they get on offense then anything can happen in high school football. Does Ironton have the discipline to be forced into long 6-7 first down drives without turning the football over? And can the Devils create mismatches via uncanny formations to hit a couple home runs? Keys to the game IMO.
#24
The game should be low scoring. With that said..field position and special teams may be the difference maker..and that edge definitely goes to the home team Tigers. Devils coaching in kick and kick returns in my opinion is terrible. It’s like they don’t think field position is important.

Russell's punting game may be a big factor. Unless it improves from last week it will give Ironton great field position all night. I don't think Russell had a punt over 20 yards last week. Would have been just as good going on 4th down

And Ironton rugby style punter will have Devils holed up all night cause lots of returns they don’t send anybody back to field the punt.. WTH

Lol he don’t punt like that all the time it was for a reason WTH , seen him hit punts 60 plus yards he also hit a 54 yard field goal so pump those brakes stud

Russell's punting game was the only weak spot I saw last week. I know they were trying to keep it away from Cox and Lewis, but man some of it was bleak at best. That's what was so frustrating. I bet we have had 20 empty attempts inside the redzone in 2 games this year. As for this game, I'm going with Ironton pulling away late, but Russell keeps it interesting early.

If Russell can grind it out with Conley it could be interesting. But this Ironton OL is really good upfront. That one DT is crazy atheletic for his size. Not sure what his name is, but man he is a helluva player.

Tigers crush the Devils. Tigers to fast on defense. Will make the devils do what they can’t do. Throw the ball. Russell is improved but not that much.
