Harlan County @ Clay County 09/27
#1
Thoughts and predictions :pondering:

Big district game :yikes:

This is a bigger game for Clay than Harlan, I look for Clay to make it close and it being at home, Winning there fourth game of the year in a classic battle of the trenches. 28-27. The boys are putting up big numbers and regardless of outcome, will play it to the wire trying to get another big win!

We continue to acknowledge Clay’s progress as a football perform; and it’s very deserving. This game will be a true measuring stick: the difference between a good and great season. I think Harlan County is the better team but unlike in year’s past the Tigers won’t lay down. With home field as well I think this is a close one. Tigers likely fall short but will prove that they belong.

Harlan County - 35
Clay County - 27

Clay County has 3 games coming up were they need to find 1 win. I think we all would agree we know the one it won’t be but there’s two others there. If they do that and close out the season, Wow.

Will anybody pass the ball in this game over/under 13 :pondering:

Clay County 21

I don't understand why its a bigger game for Clay. Harlan County needs a win just as bad as Clay does because everyone in the district is competing for that second place home field in the first round of the playoffs.
#6
I'd guess because Clay has been down for several years. Harlan County has won several region and district titles in the last decade
#7
There’s a big difference between Harlan County potentially being the 2 seed and Clay County, I think that’s what most people mean. Granted Letcher and Perry will both have something to say about that. For comparison, the Tigers haven’t won a playoff game since 2010. 2 seed and home field would be huge.

Yeah, I wasn’t trying to disrespect Harlan, I knew Harlan was no doubt going to have a good year, and will be hard to beat for Clay County, I didn’t think Clay would be able to beat Leslie at Leslie but they did, I’m happy for these kids, Clay has won more already this year than the last 3 years combined. I am happy for them and I meant when I said a bigger game for Clay, if these boys win this game vs Harlan, it would just mean a lot for the program and the coaches and parents that have been patient and went through so many coaching changes and blowout losses the last couple of years to then finally get some stability, wins and get to have some respect again. Good luck to both teams, no injuries, and again no disrespect to Harlan, I know they’ll be ready.

Clay is improving and it shows. Good to see them get some wins and gain some confidence. It’s just HC is coming off a drubbing by Wayne and will look to take it out on whoever is next. Good luck and everyone be safe.

Harlan County should be back to full strength this week. The inside linebacker and the starting right guard both should play against Clay. It wouldn't have mattered against Wayne last week if both would have played HC would have still lost the game might have been a little closer but still a loss.

If Clay can hold on to the ball and not turn it over I believe they will keep it close. I don't see them beating Harlan County though.

HC: 36
Clay: 20

I was so impressed with Clay Co last week for what happened with the special needs player. It brought tears to my eyes. Way to grow Tigers!!!!
