Russell is one of the best defensive teams in the Area this year. This Russell team on both sides of the ball has been dominating all season. It will be a great game next week Ashland coming to Russell especially after last year's 41-0 loss on the road at Ashland. This Russell team is playing outstanding football right now and had Greenup County down 42-0 at the Half. Russell played mostly subs at the mid 3rd quarter and 4th quarter. It will be great game and atmosphere next week when Ashland plays at Russell next Friday night. I am sure there won't be an empty seat at Henry R. Evans Stadium in Flatwoods next Friday Night!

This score is a little scary to me especially after watching Ashland’s poor performance last night against East Carter. Next week could get ugly for the Tomcats.

In all seriousness, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Now, last night could also have been SOME overlooking East and looking ahead to next week (I don’t want to take away from East’s improvement though), but Russell is not East, and Ashland needs very much to be concerned.

As does Russell. Ashland will be the best team Russell will have played this season. Both teams have 2 common opponents so far this season. Ashland is 2-0 Russell is 1-1.
