This was a great game. Harlan's gym was packed to capacity to the point where they started refusing entry.
Great job to both teams.
Congratulations Black Bears!!

Some teams start the year hot and then slowly work back down. Hope that isn’t Harlan. Harlan can make shots and get to the bucket but couldn’t go on that run to put the kill shot on them. Harlan county, a team that doesn’t go on huge runs, got hot in that second quarter and played good defense the rest of the way. Very impressed with the bears.

Harlan is so athletic if they can just get to the arena they will be dangerous. Their speed will run circles around most anyone in the region. They will need shots to fall to get there. Looks like they will be playing Bell County in the first round after dropping this one which as we saw Tuesday can be a tight game. I still think both these teams are heavy favorites to make it to the arena, but obviously you'd rather play Middlesboro at this point.

Both are great teams. Who ever wins this region will do well.

Harlan County has some narrow losses to the best teams they've played in Trinity and Lyon County. Their loss to Madison Central looks ugly but they knocked off some respectable teams in the King of the Bluegrass.
Haven't gotten to see as much of the Dragons as I'd have liked this season but they seem to be in the same mold as the past few years. They're smaller and not especially deep but have some quickness and will take plenty of threes. If their shots are falling they can beat anyone but they take so many that almost anyone could beat them if they go cold.
I do wonder if they have peaked too early and don't know that they can really play THAT much better than what we've already seen and would worry that they could shoot the ball well but still might not be able to get enough defensive stops against North Laurel. That said, if someone were to beat the Jags, it's most likely going to be one of these two teams.
