Defense the key to the win for Pike High tonight as they had an excellent game plan.

It will be a rematch of the 15th Region All “A” Championship between Pikeville & Martin County in Monday’s Championship Game.

Only saw bits and pieces but it was sloppy and the worst I've seen Pikeville look (dating back to last year in the Sweet 16 against North Laurel).

Offensively the Panthers struggled some but still scored 50. Defensively it was a great performance. Held PCC to only 36 points and Stewart and Ridgdon to a combined 25 points. In the game against BL they scored 47 combined. Since post season play has started the Panther defense is only allowing 38.7ppg.

Pikeville had me worried for 3 Qtrs but Coach Justice's boys dug in on defense and was able to pull away in the 4th to move on to the championship tomorrow night. They'll have to play much better on Monday if they want to go back to Lexington, especially if Martin Co. hits those 3's like they did against LC.
