Casey County vs Lincoln County on Friday. Thoughts?

Coach Rodgers heads home to face his alma mater for his first game as a head coach. Casey lost a ton of their offense to graduation, plus a new coach, new system, a senior QB who has played very little varsity minutes, but has looked pretty solid during the preseason. Coach Jaggers seems to build his teams for week 11 and beyond. So, what we see from Lincoln Friday night, will probably look a lot different come November. Casey looked pretty solid against West Jessamine and the varisty beat them by a couple of scores, but got thrashed by Taylor in last weeks scrimmage. I expect Lincoln's backfield to give the Rebels problems. I'm not gonna make a prediction on this one, but it should answer a lot of questions on how the rest of the season could go for both teams.

I think Lincoln wins by 2-3 TD's.

I think with Peach calling offense for Lincoln it is going to be tough for Casey. Coach Rodgers is a players coach and kids love him, he's a great defensive mind. I want to see what we have offensively when we can use the entire offensive playbook and what it is. In scrimmage we weren't running many offensive plays (like most weren't). Taylor scored about 200 touchdowns with limited offensive play calling.

So I am taking it that Taylors offense looks really good. How about there defense? And what did Casey look like early, potentially as good as last season?

The scheduling of Campbellsville is nuts in my opinion and for our first home game...sheesh. It just depends on if we stay healthy and figuring out what our offensive identity is. Losing a 6'4" QB who ran as hard as about any fullback in 3A did and could chuck it 60 yards when demanded. Lost an outside linebacker who was 6'4" and just beginning to play well, as well as our overall most athletic receiver. We lost 3 kids for the year before halftime of the Glasgow game (one huge reason we were just down a score at the half and blown out at the end), 3 kids for the season and 8 kids went out that game. Our edge defense was gone on one side after that game, our high jumping receiver...so we've been without those guys for the last couple of games of last year, the playoff and now this year. At least some kids got some playing time at those spots. But it's impossible to replace athletic 6'4" guys in Casey County with the same size and ability. I still hold hope we can make a run at our district. Sister district in playoff is just something I don't want to think about. Lol. Taylor offense is an elusive running back, beat us with him and read option, QB keep to the opposite side, basic stuff but well executed I guess. We came to work on some things is what I feel, and Taylor came to rip throats.
