If everyone for Raceland is healthy and playing…LCA by 3 scores at least, imo. If Raceland has anyone banged up, they need to rest them. A win in this game would be great, but isn’t the end all be all of the season.

Raceland is going to get spanked again at home.

Even if Raceland plays everyone I would expect this game to be similar to last year’s championship game.

RPI killer for Raceland. It’s a shame really. Tough schedule, lose a few games to ranked opponents in higher classes, while KCD and others beat the weakest of the weak in higher classes and get rewarded for it.

RPI is 35% your winning percentage, 35% your opponents winning percentage, and 30% your opponent's opponents winning percentage. You get a nice little bonus if you play higher classes. Since LCA has a great record against good competition, Raceland could/will lose big and their RPI will increase slightly depending on how the teams on the rest of their schedule do this last week. It may not be as big of a blowout as it would be because my guess is both sides rest players as soon as possible to keep them healthy for playoffs. RPI also locks after this week to determine playoff seeding after the cross district matchups are settled the first two rounds. You are exactly right about KCD. They will be exposed just like every year in the playoffs.

I hate it but, running clock for LCA
10-22-2023, 12:36 PM
Looks to me the Raceland posters are all ready taking a loss with excuses we’re going to rest players that has bruises on their heels after playing weak opponents in the last 3 games they should have rested in those games if they were hurt now what I am going to be looking at is how The resting players RAMS handle the run game of LCA. Now suck it up Ram posters and play football your team will get plenty time to heal up in the first 2 rounds bunch of cry babies hahahaha

I think if you are a coach and you have guys that are at best …..questionable and you play them in a game that in the long run doesn’t matter then you’re an idiot.

The only way I see resting players being of a benefit this week is if someone had a twisted ankle or something of that nature that legitimately needs a couple of weeks to heal from. This should be a game that you use to find out where weak points are at against a solid team. I just can’t see an advantage in not having your starters playing a full game for at least 3 weeks before playing a quality team.

I don’t see what the problem is people. Weve been playing that way since before the hazard game. We’ve had several players out for a while now. Raceland will put the best they got on the field Friday night and they will get after it for 4 quarters.
10-22-2023, 02:15 PM
LCA wins this. I expect Raceland to put some points up only after LCA calls off the dogs and a running clock starts.

They won’t have to play 4 quarters. Game will be over by halfway through 2nd quarter. Running clock will get you guys home early and let those players have some rest for playoffs.

I’ve seen both play and I’ll go by that. LCA will beat Raceland as bad as they want to. I will say I don’t think they’ll let it get too far out of hand though before they pull their playmakers to save them for playoffs and the Rams should do the same although I see them trying to score a couple late to feel better about the optics. Big mistake if they come out of this game banged up. Rams won’t move the ball consistently against LCA. Barring a turnover deep in their own territory, LCA could pitch a shutout if they wanted. LCA will be able to do whatever they like on offense. They may go run heavy and let Hensley get 3-4 scores or let their QB and wideouts pick on the Rams secondary. It’s just a mismatch.

"There will be blood" but it will take a little while. Intensity, experience, game prep, and a little luck will keep it respectable for a bit. Then the inevitable will happen, just hope we can find a tourniquet to slow the bleeding. We will lose but hopefully within the realm of respectability and gain something besides a loss, injury, etc. to take us into the playoffs.
