Scott Co. loses a bunch of talent, but having the best frosh class in KY last season will help them tremendously. I’d also expect a couple transfers into the program like usual. They once again will play a gauntlet schedule with the highlight from what I’ve heard so far being bowling green.

With redistrcting affecting their sister district, Scott county realistically could cruise to the semi final in 5A. Winning the district would be a free ticket to round 4.

South Warren moves to 6A. If Cooper is better than BG next year I would be stunned. Purples simply have their number and until the monkey is off their back it’s hard for me to believe differently.

In my humble opinion..

1. Bowling Green
2. Owensboro
3. Cooper
4. Pulaski County
5. Scott County
6. Woodford County
7. Graves County
8. Apollo
9. Greenwood
10. North Laurel

Wow, I forgot South Warren was moving up. I think Cooper bringing back the QB is a big plus for them. Bowling Green no doubt is a Championship contender every year. I think from Owensboro to the 10 spot will be up for grabs this season. I like Pulaski as the contender for 2025 when the season shapes up later in the year.

Certainly looks and feels like Scott County will be really good after stacking 2 dominant 9th grade classes together adn returning key linemen and skill. Does Woodford have a Quarterback?

BG getting FD QB should keep them at the top spot for 2025

BG is BG. Intrigued to see how the Scott county/BG regular season game will go. They always play it close in scrimmages.

Are we even sure he will be their guy? Some what underwhelming at Douglass.

Atherton ahead of Scott is comical to me. Atherton is not a true player in 5A, IMO.

Smile That’s the whole purpose of this thread. to get responses. It’s a way to early thread is key to remember. Not the actual preseason rankings, just a thread to talk about the possibilities. Scott County may be the team to beat other than Bowling Green.I put Boyle County at 5th in 4A thread and can’t get a response from hardly anyone.  Boyle won’t be 5th. Scott County should be a contender as well.

He may not even start based off what I’m hearing. Good depth piece I guess but it’s not like hit lit the world up at FD.

Any JCPS team is doomed to lose aside from Male, Manual, or Central. Atherton is just the flavor of the week, as Fairdale was previously

After multiple transfers to key contenders and coaching changes to some of the top of the pecking order, I am revising my top 10. I think 5A could be the most compelling class this upcoming season. It feels more wide open than it has over the previous few years.

1. Bowling Green
2. Cooper
3. Scott County
4. Owensboro
5. Pulaski County
6. Woodford County
7. Graves County
8. Apollo
9. Greenwood
10. North Laurel

Pulaski County may be the sleeper. Bowling Green is just a powerhouse every year.

Just my thoughts - I think North Laurel, will surprise some people this season.
After watching the last 2-3 games of the season and the QB change, I have
to say, they made the right move - the kid got some quick experience and was
impressive finishing up the season. They also have an impressive kicker,
plus several receivers who have good hands and can catch some hot
passes. Plus some BIG experienced GUYS on the line both ways. Look forward
to the upcoming season.

1. Bowling Green
2. Cooper
3. South Warren
4. Pulaski County
5. Owensboro
6. Atherton
7. Scott County
8. North Laurel
9. Woodford County
10. Graves County

Pulaski County will be the closest they have been since 2018 this upcoming season.
