I loved the R&B and soul groups from my teenage years in the 70’s. The Commodores Live is a fabulous album from that era. Here they are with a deep cut on the much missed Midnight Special.

Had an 8-track I used to play this on. Great tune!

Speaking of a real beauty ... This lady was born Jeanne Carolyn Stephenson, but was known to us as Jeannie C. Riley. She had a giant hit with this song, penned by the great Tom T. Hall.

Jet, I probably played this 45 record a thousand times, or more. And every time I'd go to the Krystal Kitchen downtown to play pinball in 1971, this would be playing on the jukebox. Freddie Hart was a fine gentleman and a great entertainer.  #1 on  Billboard's Singles Chart in 1971 and CMA #1 country song in both '71 and '72.

Hurry, hurry ! Step right up ...

Look how absolutely gorgeous these girls were and how sexy they danced. Not vulgar like today, just beautiful, simple, and sexy.

Love Commodores, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang and all those guys and gals.

Machine Gun - Commodores, dance scene from Boogie Nights was great...

I was very young when I heard this song. I asked my dad what was Afternoon Delight, and he told me it was Banana Pudding. For years I believed him. Oh I miss my dad.
