College World Series

Already off to a wild start. #1 Vanderbilt and #2 Texas are eliminated. Murray State is going to the Super Regional. Louisville is also going to a Super Regional, but has rather long odds of winning it all. Kentucky was eliminated by West Virginia.

LSU now has Vegas' 2nd best odds, and are currently locked in a 5-5 tie in an elimination game with Little Rock. Arkansas, Auburn, and Tennessee are other SEC teams with some of the best odds of winning.

Arkansas looks like the best pick at the moment, but this seems like a year to expect the unexpected.

LSU wound up winning, if UK hadn’t had to go to Little League pitchers against West Virginia and won that regional that’s where the Cats would be headed for the Supers. Only four SEC teams left and Tennessee and Arkansas are facing each other, so one of them will be out. Auburn, hosting Coastal Carolina, is the other. Louisville gets Miami (Fla.) and Murray St. goes to Duke, would love to see the Racers shock the world and make it to Omaha. In baseball, especially, unlikely doesn’t mean impossible.

Agreed, Arkansas is my pick as the favorite's at the moment to win it all.

I'll be pulling for WVU, UofL, & Murray St.

Like UofL I'm only against WVU and Marshall when they play the Cats. Rest of the time I pull for them.

Still burns me up to know that UK threw a Super Regional out the window like they did. Had WVU beat in the first game and collapsed in the final stage of the elimination game against them. Would love to see Murray State make the run to Omaha.

How about those Racers!!! Murray St. beats Duke 5-4 in a great Super Regional final to advance to Omaha. Hate UK’s season ended fairly early, but we’ve got two Kentucky teams in the final eight! The College World Series is probably the most underrated great event on the sports calendar every year. How about a Louisville-Murray St. final? Wouldn’t that be a mind-blower.

Murray St vs UofL in the finals would be awesome!

If I looked at the pairings right last night, the two SEC schools play each other in the opening round. Arkansas and I think LSU.

Hats off to Murray St and UofL!

Something neat here, Elam from Corbin is signed with UofL. That's pretty cool that next year he'll be playing for a team that was in the College World Series!

Very cool! Crawford from Clay is with them this year. As a freshman he didn't throw a ton but he is headed to Omaha. Good to see the EKY boys represent.

Bodes well for Elam at UofL. Jake Schweitzer from Trinity HS has become a star for Louisville in his freshman season. Last year he pitched 6 1/3 innings of shutout ball in the state tourney vs Pikeville in a 2-0 Trinity win. Trinity had 4 hits and Pikeville had 3 I think and had the tying runs on in the 7th.

Watch Schweitzer save the game for Louisville in game 3 of the super regional vs Miami to send them to Omaha.

That's Awesome JP! That connection with Pikeville playing his team last year. Hats off to the young man. A freshman in a big time situation like that, coming in with a trip to the college world series on the line, and delivering like he did, that's big time!

The College World Series started yesterday.

Didn't get to watch game 1 but Costal Carolina got the win in that one.

Watched game 2 UofL vs Oregon St.
Oregon St got the win by one run, I forgot the score.

This started as a pitchers duel for the first 4-5 innings. Going into the top of the 9th OS has a 2 run lead. UofL tied the game. In the bottom of the 9th OS got a base runner and drove in the winning run.

Pretty good game overall.

Big come-from-behind win by Louisville today in an elimination game. Hopefully, Murray can do the same thing tomorrow against Arkansas.

That's awesome!! I quit watching UofL was down by two at that point. Had some stuff to do. Hadn't heard the final score. Got back, sitting on the porch and decided to check this site out and saw you post.

I'm actually surprised LSU beat Arkansas last night. Guess I shouldn't be considering how the sec has whipped up on each other this year lol
