Actually, the birthday on my profile is not correct, I don't know where that date came from. I am a little older than what is on my profile.  However,  I don't remember this day, it was one of the coldest days I have gone through.  That wind coming off the river was Bone chilling.
A major disaster did happen on my 11th birthday in 1986 that has lasting environmental impact. There is a series about it by the same name.

I was living in Richmond (was a grad student at EKU). I was at mom's house that day . I opened the front door ONE time and that was enough for me. Stayed in and watched the Freezer Bowl on TV.   I was a cold , but happy,  camper on that frosty day. My Bengals were headed to the Superbowl!!!

Reactor 4 at Chernobyl explodes.  The area around Chernobyl won't be safe for humans for another 20,000 years.

My hometown under water in January, 1957.  I was still in my daddy's ball sack but he has told me a lot of stories about the Great '57 Flood.

My birthplace--- Old Corbin Hospital before it was demolished. It was notorious for being Corbin's most haunted place. Lots of boogies are said to have hung out there.
