“You are as guilty as that coach after the SP kid you brought in last season and the 3 this year.  Like I said Hypocrite.  Wear it.  You deserve it.”

It seems like you might be experiencing some mental health challenges or delusions right now. It’s important to consider seeking mental health support or assistance.
This is a defeated response.  No delusions.  Boyd County has players that are not LEGALLY eligible trying to transfer in from the guidance of a parent and the AD.  Your transfer parents are running around Boyd Co. asking to rent places for the address.  This is all a violation of the KHSAA Bylaws.  I can’t make this any easier to understand.  That makes BC hypocrites. One particular parent is the King Hypocrite based off of all the crying that he has done to the KHSAA.  All of this post is factual

Sounds like another delusional attempt to deflect the real truth. Ashland has been caught twice actively recruiting kids on a call and video. That is the truth. Not a psychotic episode of your typical rants.

Coach Anderson would not lower himself to go after other teams kids like past and current staff APB has demonstrated.

We are not talking about transfers. We are talking about actively recruiting players. Huge difference.
There is no difference. You recruited the players. You recruited the South Point kid last year too. Hypocrite

Huge difference. No one is recruiting at BC. Kids do move in on their own. Just not not at APB. Coaches on videos and phone calls recruiting. As embarrassingly as it is to accept that but make a rational attempt to the actual reality. Even right now you are trying to justify it. We all know.

This summer you received/recruited Owens from Huntington. Neal from Russell. Smith, Clark, and Davis from BC and Hughes from South Point. Current roster.

Randy Anderson would never go recruit a kid. Known the man for over 20 years and he has never had the reputation of such actions done by APB coaching staff. Present and past. Coaching staff caught red handed with video and audio. If that is  people you reference losing respect. I don’t think anyone in the state of KY respects that opinion or that crying of wolf. I am sure KYjelly and Appypuss could have clarified that for you!
Alijah Owens, class of 29? Everything I see says he’s a Boyd Co student. So, you’re accusing Ashland of recruiting a kid who, ultimately, went to BC? But, they’re, somehow, NOT guilty of recruiting? Lmao. What am I missing? If the above is fact, please explain how the team that actually landed him ISN’T guilty of recruiting. Is he at Ashland? I’m not seeing that anywhere. Did he turn down a massive offer from Ashland to play for free at BC & now he’s ready to tell all?

Lol. You begged for the players name who played all summer at APB. You really don’t have a clue. Then you try to give a detailed explanation of how he landed at APB. Please share where it said or says he was ever at BC. We would all love to see it. You guys just make yourselves look like idiots.

You are diverting again back to the same old broken record.  I said that you cowardly recorded Mays when YOU called him and he was dealt with accordingly by Ashland.  (Not the KHSAA)  Their recommendation was not to fire him.  A fine and probation only because you baited him shopping your kid around.  (Multiple schools). That was Ashland that made that call.
There is no difference. You recruited the players. You recruited the South Point kid last year too. Hypocrite
I am talking about what you are doing right now.  2025/26 season.  You are being too reckless and the transfers parents are being to loose with their conversations in public.  Own it clown.  The cards will fall soon.

You are obviously off your medication again. Delusional and psychotic! BC has not done anything you are claiming.

The Ashland recruitment scandal was Mays getting caught on audio begging for the BC player to come there. Offering him anything to get him. I am assuming you never listened to audio or read a paper. When the coach is begging it doesn’t sound much like shopping. Especially the way he bashed his own players.

If I remember correctly. The paper said the school was keeping him but the KHSAA said that wasn’t good enough. That was in the daily for all to read. I guess the video of the coach in the gym with your current PG at Russell was AI. Owens was never at BC. You guys are truly idiots.

Hey HOOPFAN,

Man, you were flying high that summer day when Coach Mays started talking about your kid playing at A-Town. I swear, you were glowing like a pregnant woman — that proud dad energy was strong. It was like your chest grew three sizes, and not even from the roids! For a moment there, you were the undisputed king of the gym.
And then… boom. Mays dropped the curveball — “he ain’t the greatest thing since sliced bread.” You could feel the air get sucked right out of the room — or at least out of you! I bet your face said it all.
Then came the recording — the one that tried to burn down A-Town and take Mays with it. But here we are: A-Town hasn’t lost a region game in 7 years, and Coach Mays took his team to the Final Four last year.
Still, that’s Mays for you — always keeping it real, no matter what. One thing’s clear: your kid’s making noise, and no one can take that shine away. Maybe you guys will win one soon — it'd be the first time Boyd has done that since the kid from Ohio magically showed up.
Yours truly,

KYJELLY

I don't know about your drug induced rant on here in a form of a letter which is bizarre to say the least. You really need help. Obviously you have some obsession with someone or BC in general.

I do know this. APB couldn’t have one any of those regional games without 20plus kids from the tris state. That is factual.
You want to talk about one kid from Ohio who couldn’t play there due to his circumstances from what I gather. Seriously seek help. You are definitely are in some type of psychosis. Im genuinely worried about you and your disconnection from reality.

Dear Dr. HOOPFAN,

Thanks for the surprise mental health diagnosis — I had no idea you earned your PhD in Psychology from the prestigious University of Message Boards. Truly groundbreaking work.
Your “drug-induced rant” comment? Comedy gold, especially coming from someone whose reply reads like they were yelling at their dashboard in traffic. And you called my post bizarre? Meanwhile, you're foaming at the mouth over one kid from Ohio who transferred to Boyd County — and let’s be real, without him, you're back to doing what you do best: losing.
You mentioned APB couldn’t win without 20+ kids from the tri-state. Congrats on cracking the case, Sherlock. When a program wins, kids want to come — especially when politics aren't getting in the way. Next up on your list of shocking revelations: the sky is blue and grass is green.
And here's a question for your next therapy session (you know, the ones you think everyone else needs): Why is it that players keep leaving Boyd to come to Ashland, and not the other way around? Go ahead, I’ll wait.
As for your sudden concern over my mental health — that was adorable. Really. I'm touched.
Anyway, keep swinging. It’s fun to watch.

I don’t care how much talent a coach has or where they come from or whatever, he/she still have to be able to coach to get results. I’ve seen a lot of coaches waste great talent over the years, take a bunch of Secretariat’s and get beat by a pack of mules. Anyway you want to slice it Mays coached teams have won 5 regions in the 6 years he’s coached high school basketball.

Just like the audio and video. You keep recruiting them. Duh! You absolutely cannot or will you ever see the forest due to the trees. Mays couldn’t win without the tristate kids and nor can Bonner. That why you hire a basketball trainer. So he can go into other schools programs and make the NIL pitch. Getting caught on video and audio by two separate schools is an embarrassment to your program. You wouldn’t be able to see that either with the rose colored glasses and that helmet you wear!

Mays recruits. Pays electric bills and rent as seen with last debacle and being exposed for what he is. A recruiter with morals of an ally cat. Sounds like you may need surgery to get him removed from your mouth. He has been ran off everywhere he has been due to the same behavior he has displayed and his lack of a moral compass.

Oh HOOPFAN, the delusion runs deep, doesn’t it? 7 straight regional titles for A-Town and how many runner ups for BOYD?  Your obsession with Boyd County is almost sweet — like a guy screaming “We’re elite!” from the kiddie table while Ashland keeps carving up the main course. You talk loud, spin narratives, record phone calls, and worship second place like it’s a state title. It’s actually impressive how passionately wrong one person can be.

Let’s be real: Boyd hasn't been Boyd since the Zornes years long before you took the first shot.  Boyd has built its “success” on hand-me-downs — transfers Ashland didn’t chase, (last regional title) talent they didn’t need, and hype that never quite delivers when it matters. But hey, congrats on those regular season banners and the occasional district trophy you treat like a championship ring. Meanwhile, Ashland keeps showing up when it counts, and Boyd keeps showing excuses.

And Coach A? Bless his heart. He was a good man when he came to THE COUNTY. He’s basically running a daycare at this point — managing delusional a dad who think yelling from the bench counts as coaching, only to be removed mid-season by the AD, who also just happens to be his son-in-law and was sitting on the bench beside you. You can't make that up. That's not a program — that’s a soap opera in sneakers.

So, keep pounding your chest, HOOPFAN. Keep typing in all caps, clinging to moral victories and imaginary rankings. Because deep down, you know the truth: Boyd County isn’t chasing titles — they’re still chasing Ashland’s shadow. And you're the loudest cheerleader for second place the region's ever seen.

With Jace Manning and Tevin Smith being at Boyd now (from Fairview), wonder if they will play basketball? Not elite players by any stretch, but could add some athleticism and needed depth if they play.

All the best,
TOMCAT > LIONS

Just like the audio and video. You keep recruiting them. Duh!  You absolutely cannot or will you ever see the forest due to the trees. Mays couldn’t win without the tristate kids and nor can Bonner. That why you hire a basketball trainer. So he can go into other schools programs and make the NIL pitch. Getting caught on video and audio by two separate schools is an embarrassment to your program. You wouldn’t be able to see that either with the rose colored glasses and that helmet you wear!

Mays’ first year at Ashland he won the region with kids that were there when he got there, their first title in 17 years. The guy can coach,…. but Hoopie here has never given him any credit for anything.

So exactly how many HS jobs has Mays had, besides Ashland and Montgomery County?  You make it sound like he has had numerous.

The average fan is fatigued and ready to move on. We are done with dissecting the fine line between recruiting and attracting transfers. No one is saying it's not important but just let the KHSAA sort it out. They are the only voice that matters and all others are just "sounding brass and tinkling symbols".

Now, back to the thread.

It's way too early but...
Top tier:
1. Boyd County
2. Ashland
These teams will continue to engage in some instant classics. I do believe Boyd has the slightly more talented (I may be wrong?) and experienced team with Ashland having a slight coaching edge. With a one and done in the region tournament anything could happen but unless Ashland is shooting lights out Boyd will finally get their elusive title and a trip to Rupp.

Amen. I'm about ready to ask an admin if these two can be put in their own thread, so they can keep repeating the same insults somewhere else. Its beyond exhausting.

I started the thread, and let’s keep it simple until A-Town actually loses, they’re the team to beat. Not my problem that he-who-shall-not-be-named is still salty his “big mastermind plan” crashed harder than his credibility, while Ashland just keeps casually winning.

It is rather entertaining!!!!!

Some of the dislike is because the 2 teams win and people tend to root for the underdog!!!!

Confirmed that Caleb Rimmer has enrolled at Boyd, as was previously rumored. Boyd's starting lineup should be very good if they can all play together.
