Well you know SV Wildacat, it doesn't really matter to me what you think I should or should not say, because this site is run on the community being able to express it's opinion. And well, when you see two people of different color, looking like they are about to fight, you have to think of a possible racial comment. I know this is the 2000's...but segregation was only about 40 years ago. People still do things like that, disliking other colors, but I know both of those two boys, and their parents, and they are very good kids, all i was saying is there was a POSSIBILITY...but thank you for taking it upon yourself to jump the gun on me and attack.

But Ill give SV one thing, you sure got a sweet field.....

Finally some one will tell it like it is.....

Valley played a very sloppy offense but thier defense is what kept Valley in the game. Thier passing game and running game was terrible, they could've done alot better but I guess they overlooked PCC.
#35
congrats to Valley on the win and good luck to both teams in the rest of the season!

Both teams played horrible! SV did nothing right on night long, but I would say that all the distractions from the field had something to do with that. They have to come in focused. Ratliff will have a great defensive plan and SV will struggle against ER. PC had this game but stupid mistakes killed them. I think that SV did a great job in containing Merchant and Varney. ANY STATS? I am sure Saunders gave SV team a good speech after the game. Look for them to show up a little more focus. This was a wake up call to the team and the community that they are not as good as some would like to think. I still feel that they are much improved and are headed in the right direction.

Agreed. They aren't as good as people liek to believe, but they aren't as bad as others like to believe either. They are much improved, but they have had a consistancy problem. I think Valley definately could have won by more in this game, but didnt seem focused. Their defense on stoping Varney and Merchant was the only good aspect of the game from both sides really.

Well ComeFlyWithMe you obviously still live during that segregation time. And just because people with different color skin have a misunderstanding doesn't always mean that it's because of the skin color. And to most of us 2006 people your opinion matters very little since you can't even get your facts straight.

Comefly, SV Wildcat was not as you so literally put "ripping your head off" she was merely saying that, especially in a fourm such as BlueGrassRivals, when you post a comment suggesting a racial slur, you're just begging to start a fight. Instead of saying, "maybe a violent tackle on the field" or "a little roughing up one of the players", you just had to put a racial comment in there. Becuase of course, seeing how this is Eastern Kentucky, you just know those couldn't have been possibilities, so let's just skip straight to the racial comments. Thank you, for proving to everyone on this thread, how far we've all really come in the 2000s.

BTW, congrats to SV. And a very well played game to Central! Both teams done well. From what I had been hearing about Valley, I was expecting a little more, but nevertheless, still a good game.
#41
SVHS was lucky last night, with Varney about 70% they did a decent job on him. He was in the open at least three times and the healthy Varney would have taken them to the house.

Valley has the potential to be asolutely awesome. Look at what two schools are being combined, Virgie and Dorton, the two leading middle school programs around this area. You would think that when they combine the two teams that they would dominate. We haven't seen that from them though. But from what I've heard from the players and family of the players, Saunders is making a great difference. He's extremely tough on the boys, but they respect him. And I really think that if Saunders stays, as we all know Valley's coaches are short lived, that he will make an incredible difference in the years to come. I've already heard wonderful things about them this year, even though their game may have been a little off last night. I'm excited for them!

I'm sure a lot of players don't play because of basketball, or at least i know that has been an issue in the past.

And I hope Saunders stays around as well...but if your from the Valley, you know things change quick. If ya start to lose a few, people stop liking you.

The new coach seems to be bringing some interested in the community in the football program but I agree, it doesn't take much for the people in the Valley to turn on you. I think they have been through four coaches in four years. Hard to build a program like that.

Whatever happened to the previous coaches??? Napier, Hampton, Howard, Osborne, etc.

Valley needs to take a tip from sheldon clark --put a good/quality coach in like Hager and leave him alone for a few years and watch things happen. Maybe they will --good luck By the way, your field is beautiful

this was a great game...Pike Central had it won and stupied mistakes came back to haunt them...seems like they can not get away from the turnover bug one reason why they did not take LC to the final seconds...Valley converted on the oppurtunites that were given to them and that was the diffrence in the game. If you cough up the ball and the other team has that one extra strand of heart and will left in them then you will lose the game."Lifes just game and inches so is football" Al Pachino(spelling)...

Going to the "fight"...one thing you all have to think about is Merchant is origianly from the Valley area...so there is bad bad blood between the two as shown last night...when you have the mixed emotions of one team beating a kid who should origanly b playing with you and then you have the other kid who just lost things are bound to flair up...that is the beauty of football...the thing is we keep this floating around and crap while the kids have already thrown that chip off their shoulders and have moved on to the next week...so lets just drop it...

well played by both teams...good stuff

From the field, I saw the SV coach go after what looked like Merchant; but later asking around I found out the SV coach had unsportmanlike conduct with PC coach; Merchant was in the background. Obviously SV has got a bad seed as a leader, not something that the team needs. What happens to coaches when they have unsportmanlike conduct?

I heard there was some unsportsmanlike conduct after the game, I'd like to hear some comments about this display.

Bad seed as a leader? From hearing all around talk from a few of the valley players every one else has had there side of the story so I am gonan tell mine. Valley had the game won. And was taking a knee. Cable and Johnson are the strong side of the line for Valley walked up to the line to take a knee. Obviously thigns will get said it's high school kids thigns are gonna get said on the line and any one who has ever played on the line knows this. Me myself used to sing to the other team. Things get said, people get pinched cheap shots get thrown, hell, ive had mud thrown in my eyes and Ive even thrown it. Should it happen probly not but it dose. Happens all the time in all levels of football. The PC player then dove at the knees of the of Johnson. Johnson seen it jumped outta the way and threw the player to the ground. No punches were thrown. Things got heated. During hand shakes Johnson blocked it and threw him to the ground behind him. Coaches exchanged words. I really ahve a good feelign from what was said which a couple of players told me, but then agian things heard through the grapevine so I'm really not gonna say what it was. But it was a very "Classless" remark from one coach to another. Things get heated. In sports adreneline gets flowing and it takes over. What about parents getting involved. Merchants mom got after coach saunders after the game. Things are gonan get said.

Now to the game.

I didn't get to attend the game because of work. But from what I hear the game was sloppy from both teams perspectives. Valley made plenty of mistakes and PC just couldn't follow up on them. The punt some one said handed Valley the game and it did but it's football. Obviously Valley did something right and played good enough on there mistakes to only hold PC to 6 points. 6 points from a team that was predicted to run all over Valley. And yes I will admit Valley played sloppy and I had em picked to score 40. But we got the job done enuff to come out with the win. A win is a win in the record books whether it be by 73 or by 6. And I have always heard and I do belive luck can sometimes pull you through. Whether it be luck or whether it be talent that won Vaklley the game we still won. And yes I did say valley would score up in the 40's. I am man eough to admit when I'm wrong and I was.

You sure do have a lot to say about a game you weren't at

I'd hate to see one of your posts when you are there.

i was there and I have to say, I don't knwo what it's goin to take for Central to get a win.. They have the potential to do it, but they get aggrivated i think. They can keep the game close, but once they get down they give up.. That's the way it's always been there.

I could be wrong but that's what it looks like. As for shelby valley, well this was the first game i watched them play so i can't say much.. But the jerseys did look awesome, as did the field.

I was hoping for another 3 ot battle like a couple years ago. but due to a horrible snap we didn't get to see that..
I'm in love with Tawnya.. hehe..

Tom is not my friend....

if you have any questions send me a p.m.
