Apple Bowl Predictions and bets: Johnson Central @ Paintsville
#1
This one is going to get ugly and in a hurry. The difference in this game will be in the trenches. JC is overwhelmingly strong on both the D and O-lines and will have this one over early. With JC's D-line, JC will contain Daniel Pugh and make it a long night for the entire Paintsville offense, not to mention the two JC headhunters Blake Johnson and Micheal Tackett. The running attack of JC is going to make the score keepers and video mans neck sore from watching JC running up and down the field all night. This one could be possibly the worst blowout in the history of the Apple Bowl. My prediction:

Johnson Central: 77
Paintsville: 0

Hopefully the score will never get that far out of control for sake of the kids involved. I'll still take JC by a comfy margin, though.

JC - 56
Paintsville - 7

This will be an interesting one for a few bets!

Where is the guy that said Johnson Centrals 6 game winning streak would come to an end when JC goes to Memorial Field? I want to hear something from some of the kitties supporter? Here kittie, kittie, kittie.Smile

What time is the kickoff 7:30 or 8:00?

The Paintsville fans are staying humble much like the JCHS fans should be. Saying that I don't think we will hear a lot from the Tiger faithful this wk.

JC will roll in this one

Johnson Cenrtal by 3 td's

3rd year in a row, gonna be a total blowout. If Paintsville scores, it will be a fluke play or 2nd or 3rd team.

Could we get together so I could get 76 points and make a real bet on this???
#13
I'll just say this... May both teams stay come out of the game injury free and may they both have success in their respective district and region's. With that said JC should win and win big. But this is a rivalry and you never know what can happen in a game like this. I think JC will win by at least 4 TD's. Rock on Eagles.

I'm not a trash talker because I respect Paintsville, but would you take that bet with the JC coaching staff with them calling the plays and leaving the starters in? Hypothetical of course?

Johnson Central is a bit much for Paintsville in this one.

I know you are not trash talking, and I have the uptmost respect for the JCHS football team.
I was one of the people that had said that I thought this years Eagle team was better than last years. I said that befor their first game this year. Now I think this is the best Eagle team they have ever had.
And to answer the question....yes.
I believe they could beat Paintsville by 60+ if things went well for them. But I will take a 11-12 TD lead anytime.
Heck...anything can happen!!

Gotta be Central

Central should win this game every single year. They have so much of a depth advantage over Paintsville. I think Paintsville has around 30 players, if that. I'm pretty sure that Central has around 70. The size difference between the schools is huge. Good luck Paintsville.

JC by 35...........

It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "

Over the past two years JC has had a big advantage on the number of players, but historically JC has averaged 30 to 35 players about the same as P'ville with both schools using 14 or 15 players each game.
Here's a question if a 3A or 4A school has about the same number of players and play about the same number of kids as a 2A or 1A school Do they have a advantage over a smaller school just because they have a higher enrollment.

No they don't. A couple of years ago when I was still playing, we had 26 kids. Paintsville had more. Of course they beat us but the next two years were different.:letsparty

It will get that bad Tomcat because Matney won't let up on Paintsville. He still had his starters in the 4th quarter last year when they were up 60 points. I just hope that after he does that again this year, they win the region and Highlands sees what he did and does the same thing to him.

My prediction:

If Matney keeps his starters in like the past 2 seasons, minimum 80 points.
If he shows a little respect and class, minimum 40 points.

JC wins by 2 td and a field goal

When was Central up 60 points? The final score was 50-6. Listen to the pot calling the kettle black when talking about class and respect. Ask Betsy Layne this year how much class Paintsville showed them with there starters in during the fourth while leading 65-14. Let’s ask Allan Central, Phelps, Jenkins, Betsy Layne, and South Floyd fans how much class Paintsville has showed them in the past. I just think it's funny that after all these years of whipping up on the teams mentioned above you and the rest of the clan expect someone to show you some respect and class.

How many of those kids focused on just football though? Schools that are big 3As or 4As have an advantage IMO. Since there are so many kids, then that means that the football players focus on football only, the basketball focuses on basketball only, and so on. Most of the kids at Paintsville play at least 2 sports and have to divide their time up to choose what they want to get better at. So yes there is somewhat of an advantage. No matter how many players on a team that there are. There is a reason that football is separated into classes.

Ask Betsy Layne, Paintsville has 23 players GE. If recall correctly Tyler Deaton was in at QB and the backup O-line (if that's what you wanna call all 3 of them) were in the game in the 4th quarter. Ask Phelps, and ask Phelps how close of a game it was this past friday night going into the 4th quarter. There is a BIG difference when a team with 25-30 players is playing against teams that only have 15-20. My freshman year we were up big on Allen Central and we (JV) played the WHOLE 4th quarter and scored TWO TD's against their starters and held them from scoring. Also my freshman year we were up 4 TD's against Neon and we (JV) fumbled THREE possessions in a row and they scored on all 3 putting us up by only 4 points (Neon got a couple 2pt conversions) forcing coach LeMaster to put the varsity back in and barely escaping with a victory. JC was up 44 points with 2 minutes to go in the game and the starters were still in. What is even more ridiculous, why in the world would you risk getting any of your key players hurt to prove what, that's stupid.

All I'm saying Golden Eagle is remember this game when you all are playing in the Semi-Finals (like JC should be) against them NKY boys and they beat the tar out of you. It's a whole nother world up there, trust me, we thought we were good in 01' and we found out QUICK just how good we really were and look at the players and athletes we had.
