His offense was like Coach Boone from "Remember the Titans" run 6 plays like novacaine...always works, he's always been like that even in his days coaching at Magoffin Co. and Prestonsburg.
Don't forget Lawrence County and Bourbon County, he ran the same offense at those to schools also. It was VERY successful in is Lawrence County tenure.

Coach Matney said on the radio show tonight that this WILL NOT be the last Apple Bowl and that JC and P'ville are ready to sign another contract for the next year or two.

Don't look for P-ville to just lay down in this one. But also don't look for JC to over look them either. In my opinion, this will be a better game then what some expect. The score may not show it at the end but i will garauntee that both teams will give it their all with the game being much closer then what the score will show.

P-ville- not enough

One thing is that you can throw the records out the window. The kids form both schools will play this game with a lot of heart. I also think that this game will be closer than most expect.

Do you remember how bad JC beat us last year speedlimit? Imagine JC better than they were last year and Paintsville alot worse.

Go Eagles see if you can score 100 on paintsville because if they could on you they would. On another note show Pugh what it's like to play against some one who can line up and play. It makes me sick to here all the stats he puts up against Betsy Lane, Allen Central, and other teams like that.

TRAIN 85 I think you are right. Pugh was thought to be one of the best quaterbacks in the state and maybe he is when he's playing rum dums but this friday i bet he doesnt make it through the game without leaving with an injury. My opinion it will be the same old ankle injury that appears everytime there getting beat.

Jc Will Be Up At The Half 35 To 0. Good Luck To Both Teams.
09-27-2006, 03:36 PM
In defense of the Pugh boy, he did have a legitimate ankle injury during the first game of the season when they were tied with Fairview in the second quater. Last season he did have an 8 or 10 against Evarts last season in the playoffs from what I can remember off of WYMT. He also had pretty good stats in every other game they played in other than JC in which the Eagle defense just dominated, in which they should every team they play that isn't in 3A. I mean they have the coaching staff and the numbers to do it. As for putting up 100?? Well I'd hope no school would do that to anyone. JC putting 100 on the Tigers would be the eqivalent of Trinity, Highlands, X, Boyle, Danville, Beechwood, Cincy Elder, or even Hoover Alabama beating JC soundly (50 plus points).

Paintsville has a great quarterback in Daniel Pugh and if he had a good line he would put up great numbers against any team:thumpsup: .

Does anyone know what time the gates open and how much it is gonna cost to get in? I have heard a few different times and prices.

I look for the gate price to be about $5, but I'm not sure on the exact time of the kick-off. Any infor would be appreciated.

All I know is that JC has the best team they have had in years. It only took Matney 1 year to get a winning season and it only took him one year to beat P-Ville in the Apple Bowl so anyone that says that P-Ville is building their team needs to look back at 2005. Thats just an excuse to me. Dont want to brag on my boys at all because they can have a bad game and get beat just like the rest of them. But head to head P-Ville has no chance.

I for one believe the JCHS faithful are being a little to crazy in their predictions. Yes, the last two Apple Bowls have been blowouts but the half time scores in both games were within two scores. I believe the same will happen this yr. I believe PHS will hang close for a while and then the depth of JCHS will take it's toll and the flood gates will open. I don't like to predict scores but I believe JCHS will roll on.
Good luck to both teams.
Good luck to both teams.

And Prowler, take Eagle Eye's post into consideration, if Pugh had a line he would be putting up big numbers again this year. He is not overrated, he just doesn't have much to work with. And that's really something to be betting on, Pugh being lucky to make it through the game without leaving with an injury. Talk about the ankle injury all you want, he still plays on it. Played on it against Fairview and played on it against Prestonsburg. The only way you will see him leave the game is if it's a serious injury or coaches take him out because you will never see that boy give up.

The news just keeps getting worse and worse for Paintsville. They already lost Shane Cantrell earlier this week, more than likely lost Pat Butcher today in practice when he dislocated/broke his finger and the bone come thru the skin. Brian Walker is still out, Cody Reynolds has surgery on his knee tomorrow, "Big'N" is out with an ankle injury.

Your prediction may be right on for the final...but building there team actually does fit the scenerio. I have read on another site that they lost somewhere around 14-15 seniors last season...all of whom contributed greatly to the team. Any team losing that many players from graduation is going to suffer and take there licks. It's a process to build up a great team, a lot of the Central seniors were starting when they were younger as are a lot of kids on Paintsville's squad. Well Rome wasn't built in a day so it's goning to be a long night for the Tigers. Don't be too hard on them though, they're young and still learning. JC had a few rough years in the past also.

Heck one of them didn't stop me from playing in that one game, you popped it back in for me and I went on until I gave myself a concussion. Tape it up, ice it down, he'll be alright.
