I dont know about around the state, but in the mountain area I would say Pikeville.

Pikeville, Mayfield, Beechwood, LCA and Raceland will proably make up the top 5 defensive's in 1A next year, the team's I named were in no particular order and it's just my opnion.

South Floyd may have a good defense next season with mostly everyone on the defensive team experienced in varsity football and Pikeville, I think they will have a great defense with their talent!!!

As far as I see it the region is up for grabs next year. Pikeville will always be a good team and Hazard returns a heck of a lot of starters on defense, the secondary and the line is very good for Hazard next year because most of them did start this year. For everything else, we'll see what happens.

BTW, Pikeville and Hazard won't meet for Region, the only way they'll meet is in Semi's, and if Hazard make's it that far, we'll see ya there, but of course I hope to see both these team's playing when it comes time for semi's.
But, Pikeville won't be worrying about that game until week 14, we have 10 regular season games and 3 games before semi's and we're gonna take em' one at a time

Who all saw the South Floyd-Paintsville game...if they would of played like the whole way through the season...not worrying...just playing to be out there...having fun...with the same amount of heart and determination to send those seniors off the field with their heads raised high...then they could of won against any of those teams...even the big bad pikeville...i dont care who they get back...they couldnt hit worth a lick...they were just 10 times faster then who ever they played...i suggest that everyone gets in the weight room...cause i know i am...i suggest every one starts gettin ready...because this is South Floyds year...we have said it so many times before...but wait and see....somethings gonna break this year....

This is one of the funnier posts I've read on here. What's gonna break? SF 100 game losing streak! Take your loss with pride and quit trying to make excuses for that 51-0 loss you took. You lost to Pikeville like you always do. Get over it.

Maybe ya got your stats messed up...South Floyd held paintsville 0-0 until the last few minutes of the game...Then paintsville scored against them...so stop runnin those jaws...i didnt say anything about beatin them...but we will have a great defense...not so sure about offense still...so yeah...see ya next year...

My bad...so yall didnt get blown out by Paintsville....and your "GREAT DEFENSE" sure as heck didnt stop our offense....63-0 if i remember right....and didnt we hurt like 2 of your players and they had to be taken out in an ambulance???
