A Rumor.....
#1
Now, first I dont know for a fact that this is true.... I had heard a rumor that MTV had contacted Lexington Christian to do a Two-A-Days series, and they turned it down. So then the offer went to the Elizabethtown High School Panthers in central Ky. It would be cool to have MTV to a two-a-days show in Ky, but I dont see it happening...I was just curious as to whether anyone else has heard about this????

They've already filmed in Elizabethtown for Basketball but packed up and left yesterday I believe citing that visiting schools were giving them problems and not letting them film, but it's already over.
#3
I've heard something similar to this, but I heard they wanted to film Lexington Catholic, not Lexington Christian, but the offer was turned down
Of course im not entirley sure which school they wanted to film, but I would think they would want to film Lex. Cath before Lex. Christian in football or basketball

Well they did a true life about Paul Dunbar cheeleaders once.. they like KY

I think they should do two-a-days at like trinity.. or Belfry lol
#5
Well if they do it it will be nice.

Trinity, St.X, Highlands, and Lexington Catholic would be good choices, program's that have won it many times and are regular contendor's for the title would proably the favorites for filming, they're big school's and two-a-days seems to like making the show around big schools so these would be their top picks I would think

Yea...I think they should make one about smaller schools...lmao But thatll never happen....and if it did it would be about like Danville or some team like that. lol

Ithink that BELFRY would be interesting to a show on. A mountain community with a strong family background. AND LORD knows they love their PIRATES .... I would likie to see it.
NOW why not Russell on there,,, well, I just think that the setting would be better there...... They are now family since we like meet every year..... It would be interesting. And definitely a different atmosphere than a PRIVATE school.

It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "

U kno??? I think it would be cool to do a Two-a-days on a small actually public school... Not like a Danville, or Mercer Co. or a Trinity or St. X, but like a Hazard, Pikeville, Paintsville team. That way everyone could see the "poorer" side of HS football....so they could see the small schools with huge support, but horribly old equipment, an old practice field, and an old school...you kno?? That way it would give the world a taste of what High School football is about for the other 99% of us who dont have charter buses, state of the art weightrooms, a 6a school, an enclosed turf practice field, and stuff like that. People need to see the realworld, not just a glamorized super school like Hoover for example. But hey, anything filmed in Ky. is cool with me tho....

Be glad to just have a practice field! Not all are fortunate! The poorer side of football? Paintsville ,Hazard and Pikeville..OH PLEASE! We all feel sorry for you and are in our thoughts and prayers each night for coming up so hard!
#11
haha I will have to say that Pikeville, Paintsville, and Hazard aren't one of the less fortunate schools, these programs have plenty of money that go into the football programs at the schools, there are other small schools in the mountains that don't have what the three schools named do. Most schools around here ride the cheese log to games 2 hours + away and have old uniforms, equiptment and football fields that generally aren't taken care of.
P,P, and H all have great fan support, many school's dont even have that...
Most people who keep up with HS football always like hearing about the underdog of the district or region doing good and making playoffs or winning more than usuall, but most people like to watch winners who are playing for a state championship so naturally 2-a-days is about a school that's basically gonna win it all at the end of the season...
#12
here is a side note away from sports...at Pike Central MTV contacted their news paper to do a show on them...i was personaly on the news staff last year and we were named one of the top newspapers in the state on KY which was pretty neat...just thought i would share that Big Grin

Yeah I know lol I doubt very seriously these schools are poor.. I know Pikeville & Paintsville have plenty of money in thier football programs
#14
In all seriousness, I could really see MTV doing a show at Highlands.. Highlands seems like Hoover, in that, Football is everything to that school...

I would like to see them do Belfry too tho.. That'd be cool.. They were gonna do Elizabethtown.. so why not Belfry?..
#15
Does anyone remember when ESPN, did a thing on Paintsville Basketball?
#16
Belfry would be a good show. Some other ones I wouldn't mind seeing is Bowling Green and Male.

Wow, everyone went off... I was just sayin that it would be cool to have them do a show on a SMALL team with a lot of fan support like Hazard, Paintsville, and Pikeville. These were just examples there are other schools out there, but I just didnt really think anyone would want to see a team like Allen Central or something who never does much with their football program. I was just talking about the teams who were smaller and didnt have the BEST stuff ok?? BTW, have you ever seen Hazard's practice field??? All we have is a small rock/dirt area with equipment that is torn and falling apart and practice uniforms that are all torn and falling apart, and weeds growing around sleds....etc...and as far as I know, with exception to a team like Danville, everyone around here rides the school bus "cheese", to games 2+ hours away...plz name me some teams around the area who have charter buses....?? Not everyone has turf and new equipment like Pikeville does. Now, Im not saying we have the poorest worst team around, but we are probably the poorest of the 1A schools between the three examples I mentioned, which afterall were examples. So I plan on just dropping the idea of the smaller schools getting recognition on a Two-A-Days type show...so hey w/e.

It was on Kentucky Basketball in general, but yeah I remember they filmed Paintsville for a little while.

Pikeville has charter buses...But its only because of the players, in the offseason they sell stuff to get money for things such as that, if it weren't for that when Pikeville made the trip to Corbin last year they would have taken a school bus

I'd say Rockcastle, Belfry, Prestonsburg and LCC have charter busses when they make long trips...Not entierly sure if any of the teams I mentioned use charter busses, but those are the school's that put alot of emphasis on their football program, so maybe, can anyone tell me if im correct on any of these for sure?

Ive never seen any of these teams use charter buses, but then again Rockcastle, Lcc, Belfry, and Prestonsburg are all anywhere from 2-5a schools tho right??

I watch it all of the time, lol..
#23
that would be pretty sweet if a ky team had a two a days show
#24
The Kentucky Basketball thing from ESPN had Feds Creek on it too. I represent. Haha.

#25
Trinity would be the only school realistically to do the show succesful and top nation team so there thats that
#26
Trinity or St.X or maybe even Louisville Male....these would be the most realistic schools to do a show on. Look at St.X and Trinity's rivalry game....they play at Papa John's stadium because they have like 20,000 fans come to the game.

Belfry do not use charter buses for any trips.. Even 03-04 championship games in L'Ville, they took plain jane school buses..
