On Thursday Kyle Carter has signed a letter of intent to play football for the Thundering herd as a preferred walk on. According to the Big Sandy Newspaper. One person that helped Carter make the decision to attended Marshall as a preferred walk on was former Marshall stand out line man Luke salmons. For all that dont know Salmons was a captain his Sr year at Marshall. He also trained and conditioned Carter in the off season prior to Carters Sr. Year.
Luke Salmons was the 8th grade coach that led the 7th and 8th grade Louisa Middle school teams to OVC champs and is now the line coach at the high school.was

Kyle was 1st team All -State selection his Senior year. He had 107 tackles as an defensive . He also had 12 tackles for loss and forced 7 fumbles.

Kyle was a three year starter and was Honorable Mention All-State in 2005 and on the Ap All-State 3rd team in 2006.

Congrats goes out to Kyle and hope to see you make your way into the starting line-up soon.:letsparty

Those are off my head since 89 that went D1 starting off. There are about 2to3 times more that went to smaller schools. LC is second to none in Eastern KY when it comes to sending kids to college to play football. Better days are coming too

REREAD the earlier post he ask college ball and D1 Most players from here are not going to D1 but you know ,,,,,what,, Big Deal ,,,they still get just as good as an education for playing football.Too much is made out of D1.Its as if they dont go d1 they have failed and that is not true.Ask Jason Michaels of 1aa national champions Western Kentucky and when Phil ratliff who played for a national championship at marshall.Then go to pro team rosters and see how many players come from 1aa,,it might surprise you.

I am glad KCC has a football team now Bulldog 42 ,,that will be a place for more Bulldogs to go.You can write letters for any player yourself Bulldog42.I contacted Miami of Ohio for dontae half a dozen times before LCHS coaches did.Ask him.

By no means was I trying to say something bad here . I just saw the D-1 thing and I for one don't put much into tittles like D-1 or 1aa or NAIA or what ever when I ask how many kids go on to the next level thats what I mean I could care less what school it is or were its at as long as they are going on . Some people didn't like coach Mcpeek when he was here but I would bet ya that he helped more kids go to the next level in the 3 years that he was here then (JUST ABOUT) all of are coaches put together and for that I will always be thankfull for what he did for this program. Kids like Will Hatten I had never heard of the school he whent to but you know what he's playing collage ball and getting a degree. But I am with all you guys I am very proud of are program in the good times and the bad and I think the good times are about to get rolling here in Louisa. GO DAWGS:Cheerlead

I tell ya Old Dawg if I thought I could wright a letter or talk to some body that could help just one kid I would . I think that would be awesome to be able to take part in a young mans future and I'm sure that you would too if you could.

You sure can Dawg family.If you ever saw the movie Beautiful Mind with russel crowe, My daughter,s bedroom looked like the room Crowe had all these newspaper clippings on.If nothing else it sure lifts a kids spirits to get a letter from a college.I sent you a PM
