An Eastern Kentucky couple says they were robbed and beaten at gun point in their own home and police say the two suspects are still on the loose.
Floyd County couple Keenan Robinson and Melony Shumate say they were getting ready to go to bed on a typical Friday night. They locked the back door and headed into their bedroom. But within what they say seemed like seconds, this night was no longer typical.
"All of a sudden these two guys came in with guns screaming this is the police put your hands in the air get down on the floor, put your hands in the air get down on the floor this is the police," Melony said.
Keenan says they hit him with his own baseball bat, then took him into the bathroom bound his feet and hands and continued to beat him.
"Where they'd hit me over the eye the blood run over it and into this eye and it was swelled together," he said.
"I could hear it all the way into the bedroom every time they hit you," Melony said.
Melony says while she was tied up in the bedroom floor the two men left the room to search another part of the house, but she says her hands were loosely tied, and she reached for a phone.
"I raised up and grabbed it and laid back down on my stomach and dialed 911 and just laid my head over the phone so that they wouldn't know what I was on the phone," she said.
The couple says the men both wore black clothing and says they had very few chances to look, but they think one man was between 5 feet and 5 feet 5 inches tall.
"He was real fair skin, his hair was cut really short, had a hood over his head and a bandana over his face," Melony said.
The suspects stole several guns, a small amount of cash, and some of Melony's jewelry. They say the men not only stole their belongings, but the safety and security they used to feel in their home.
The homeowners say they are offering a $500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. If you have any information, you can call Kentucky State Police in Pikeville at 606-433-7711 or 1-800-222-5555. Police say you can remain anonymous.

Odd the same thing happened recently here in the Ashland area. Two me posing as police officers knocked down a door and tied up the homeowner and while they were ransacking the house he managed to get loose and kill one of them.
They caught the other one shortly after he dropped off his accomplice at KDMC. I have to say that the one that got killed got what he deserved.

Hope they catch them. Being robbed in my home is a big fear of mine. I heard about the case that Midee mentioned as well. I don't know why these people say that they are police because no one in their right mind would believe them, and they were robbing them already anyway.
