I heard Marty Brenneman say this the other night on the Reds game........in the last 18 seasons, how many times do you think Greg Maddux has gone 3-0 on a hitter? 18 TIMES!!!!!!....THATS CRAZY. One time per season.
I'm a diehard Reds fan and never did like Maddux very much, but you have to give him his kudos on this.

One time per season.Marty actually was corrected on this yesterday and talked about it on the air. Maddux has gone 3-0 on something like 269 batters and has actually walked all but 18. I heard him talk about this few days ago and then heard him correct his statement yesterday

Thanks for clearing that up TH. I didn't hear his correction. I just know had that stat been accurate, it would've been something.

Yeah I watched a show a few years back and he was talking about playing in Pikeville and staying at the college and how he had to walk down the 99 steps everyday to get to his car. I also remember watching guys like Strawberry, Gooden, and Glenn Bragg playing in Paintsville. Bragg actually played for the team in Paintsville I think it was a Yankees farm team but not sure about that.

I know Jose Rijo, former Reds pitcher, used to play in Paintsville. He said one thing he remembered most about playing there was the Pizza Hut. HaHa

That kind of stuff is cool...I wish Pikeville and Paintsville still had those teams...
