The Bulldogs of Paul L. Dunbar have a team ERA of 1.32 heading into their first round match-up with Johnson Central on Thursday night at Applebee's Park. Led by University of Louisville signee, Thomas Royse, Dunbar has three pitchers who can hit the 90 mph mark. Royse is 12-1 with a 1.14 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 74 innings of work this season. Casey Lucchese, another senior, is 8-0 with an ERA of 0.47 after his 5 inning shutout against Clark County last week. Trey Anderson, Chad Richie, Chase Ballinger, and Matt Bracken have all played a big part in Dunbar's 35-6 season. So far this post-season, Dunbar has played 8 games, and in those 8 games the pitching staff has only allowed 3 earned runs in 41 innings of work.

Any team that has an ERA below 2 should win the state, plus they have 3 guys that can win a game against any team in the state.
