and my AC went out at home last night.
Thought or suggestions as to how to keep cool? The poor little dog looks like she is going to die of heat stroke. She has never experienced this kind of heat before. It is 86 inside my house. Luckily the repairman said he could get it fixed before lunch tomorrow. For the first time in my life the extended warranty will finally come in handy.

Midee ,I read an article in Mens Health, that was talking about if an AC ran out or if someone didn't have it in the first place, to keep a piece of ice on your pulse on the wrist! Very dangerous times right now, hope you get it fixed and SOON!!!!!!!!!!!! Need a wall AC? I have one in the basement that isn't being used and is a VERY good one. Brought it back from the lake at Cherokee when we sold our place. Just let me know!

dude i feel your pain. Thank God I dont have family living with me. Last summer my central air unit went out on me and it took 4 days for someone to fix it. I remember the last three days it was over 90 inside my house. I would wake up in the middle of the night and get in my Formula Firebird and drive around just so I could use the AC, lol..I bought a fan from walmart and had it pointed straight at me when i slept at night..if you need a window unit, I have a small one I could pull out of the garage window your more than welcome to use..let me know..

Ya know.... after I got to thinkin about it.... I believe I would stay overnight in a motel somewhere!!! If they don't get your AC fixed tomorrow I'd either hit a nice "overnight retreat" or take PB5 up on his offer!!!

Guys and gals I really appreciate all of the advice and offers of help. I just got in from trying to borrow one and the one I came up with would most certainly have ripped the wall out of my house.
Biggest window unit that I have ever seen in my life. I am hoping that he gets it fixed tomorrow. I called him today and he assured me that he would have it back up and running by lunch time tomorrow. Just my luck it goes out when we have a few 90+ degree days in a row. All of my kids went to the in laws house to stay so the only person I really have to worry about is the wife (and the dog) but I had her laying in bed covered with damp towels so she will be OK.
Once again Thanks everyone.

Once again Thanks everyone.

It sure was hot today. I've worked at lowes for six months, on the inside, today was my first day in the "outside" lumber yard.
Good luck Midee.
Good luck Midee.

Hopefully you get it up and running tomorrow. I've worked outside all summer long for 9 hours a day so I know how it is, plus tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter. Good luck Midee.

Well good news so far. The repairman showed up about 15 minutes ago and he has already got it apart and is starting to install the new motor. Hopefully I will have AC in less than an hour.

Saturday was horrible!! My family and I went to King's Island and the heat just about killed our energy. Standing in line on that aspalt for 1/3 of the day will just about tire anyone out.

I called the temperature line when I got home from work today (about 5:30) and it was still 97 degrees out! Yeesh...
