According to JagNation.com...Tim Couch appeared to be like a "deer in headlights" while taking in his first live action in 3 years. The blog report goes on to suggest that Couch looked "indecisive in the pocket" and was the victim of a sack when he could've avoided it.
What do people expect Couch to be like? He's not going to look sharp his first time out. Might be a little overreaction at this point.

Of course hes not going to br impressing in his 1st exhibibition action or his second even, when your out for 3 years and then make a comeback like he is, it takes time to get back in the swing of things.

With his stature, he could always just move to the likeness of fullback or linebacker.

It is hard to simulate the speed of the NFL when you are just throwing routes to trainers and lifting weights. I would like to see him come around and do something with this being his third chance.

Perhaps running an NFL offense is just a touch more than Tim can mentally handle.

Still shellshocked?? He hasn't been hit in years. The Hal Mumme "dink and dunk" offense is a little easier to excel in than a pro-style offense. Maybe Tim just doesn't have what it takes to be an NFL QB.

You do not make the playoffs in the NFL if can't throw and somehow the Browns did make the playoffs while Couch was there. Are you from Tennessee Venom 93? ha ha.

Couch was killed in Cleveland because of a lackluster offensive line. Had he been with a better team he would have excelled. I get so sick of people putting Couch down, especially when its Kentucky people doing it. I think its just because he killed their teams when he played at leslie co and thats the only reason they talk about him like they do. I remember the last couple years he played, the QB for magoffin co, where i live, was so jealous of him he couldnt stand it, and I thought it was great. I have been a Tim Couch fan ever since. I wish him the best and hope he gets the chance to stick it in his critics face someday soon.

He may not have been hit in years, but for his entire career in the NFL he was hit hard and repeatedly. It was an absolute joke the situation he was placed into with the Browns. I'm not sure Peyton Manning could've succeeded with that lousy crew.
It is not easy to get rid of a mindset that was reinforced over and over with Cleveland, in which he never had time to throw and was constantly looking to see where the next big hit was coming from.

Well said Cowbell, great post.
Are you all on Tim's payroll or something? Is it because he is from Leslie Co? Would you be on this guys side so much if he had played for St X, Henry Clay, or Lex Cath?? Good luck to Tim, but he has little chance of ever being anything more than a 2nd or 3rd string QB in the NFL.

I mean, I am sure it cannot compare to what you do for a living. Yeah, I mean, 50 million dollars, a playboy playmate for a wife, ..2 houses and 2 condos. A Bentley, 2 Range Rovers..yeah what a loser! :lmao:

Yeah actually I would be on his side if he had been from either of those places. Its great to see any sports talent from Kentucky make it in the pros. Look how great Brandon Webb is doing and I believe Lorenzen is backup to Manning now and there are some others that are professionals in other sports that are doing ok for themselves. So yeah, whether they are from eastern ky, central ky, western ky or anywhere in the state, its great to see them succeed at every level of competition. Tim will be a starter again someday, hes still young so dont count him out, remember its been about what 3 years or so since he has played in an actual game, come on man, give him time. I guess you are just one of the jealous ones though right.

You accuse us of being on his payroll, well I would ask you if Couch stole your girlfriend or something, the way you bash him on here. What is your problem with him?
We will never know how good Couch would've been if he had not gotten drafted by a team that had no inclination to give him either a decent line or some offensive weapons. Again, I doubt that Peyton Manning could've succeeded in that cesspool.

i use to tailgate with tim's dad and he said tim's shoulder had been hurt since he was a senior at ky and he played through it. i agree also tim was thrown to the dogs in cleveland he just need a chance nad a good team!!! good luck tim

I think it may take him a couple seasons as a backup to get used to the feel of the game again, but I do think Tim will eventually compete for a starting job in the NFL. Look at Jon Kitna, he spent a few years backing up Carson Palmer before he got his second chance to start again with the Lions. Hopefully Tim will get the same chance someday.
