Jonah Justice was an absolute beast tonight! If I'm not mistaken he won MVP for the game, he was running over defenders left and right and laying the wood on defense.

Congrats Valley

Was a very close game looked as if it would come down to who made the most mistakes. Then Valley scored on a 34 yard run. I was very impressed with valleys run game tonight. Jonah Justice looks like a load to bring down. Logan Bryant is a speedy reciever. Very good game by the cats. Didnt see many mistakes.

I was very unimpressed with PC. They only lost three players, granted one was their leading rusher, but with that much returning expeirence returning they should have a better team. Not taking anything away from SV, but I looked for Pike Central to be better than what they played.

Congrats to Shelby Valley! I thought they had a decent chance to win, and I had gone back and forth before finally picking Valley in the BGR contest. But, I never expected a 22-point win.
Someone who was at the game, how did it happen? Was it a blowout from the get-go, or was it close for a while?

Well there was no score until the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Valley came and and pulled away with a 20-0 lead, around the one 1 min. left to go until halftime i think it was #88 from PCC intercepted the ball and ran it back for 82 yards and the 6 pts. 3rd quarter, not sure what time PCC scored again but it made it 20-12. After that i believe Valley scored 2 more td's while still in the 3rd quarter (not sure someone correct me if I'm wrong)...the mistake and few penalties made by Valley is what caused the 2 td's made by PCC...overall I thought it was a well played game by Valley, and I thought PCC would've been better...but who knows it could've been a bad night for PCC

Sounds like Central never had the lead, although apparently it was tight for the first quarter. Good game for Valley, makes you wonder, are they that good or was Central really off?

yeah it does makes me wonder...but I guess will have to find out when it comes time to play the SOLID teams like Belfry and P-BURG

I don't see Valley being able to hang with Belfry at all. Maybe P-Burg if they bring their "A" game and P-Burg shows up sluggish, but I doubt it. With their tough schedule, in order to have a good season, Valley needs to continue to win the games they have a good shot at. Like East Ridge, Knott, Bath, Morgan, and maybe Appalachia, Va. Win those games and they finish with 5-6 wins and the 2 seed in district.

PC Team needs to be more aggresive and follow the play all the way through. These guys watched the runner run the ball instead of blocking and pushing the boys out of the way. Really good game valley, it takes discipline, which your coach dishes out plenty!! Hard work really does play off, but the team has to have the heart to carry it out. Good try Pike Central maybe next game!

Didn't see Central using some of their good players, what is up with that??? Wonder who was telling who how to play??? Maybe 'cause it was "bowl" night.

I meant key players, all players are good.

PC played terrible, very poor blocking from the OL and poor tackling on defense.I belive PC made SV look better than they are, but we see as the season rolls on.
Good luck to both teams in their remaining games

i have a question, why was both teams kicking the ball on the ground instead of in the air? i had never seen that but i haven't been to a high school football game in about 10 years.
congratulations on your win sv and keep up the good work. jonah and the mitchell boy are excellent ball players and zach mccoy does a good job as center. logan is quick and does a good job throwing that football.

In my opinion , which obviously doesn't count...Why would PC not let some of the best offensive players on offense? Makes no sense. Instead, it was 2 sophmores running the offense most of the game. When they have an outstanding #88 , #5 that could have run the ball like the wind... BTW.. #88 (EJ) was on offense about 2 minutes and scored a touchdown..So I ask again why? why? why? Congrats to Shelby Valley and so sorry to PC seniors ...You could have had this one!

Yes, I know, I was meaning it to say when they play these two great teams to see if SV has improved. I didn't mean for it to come out like Valley was going to beat P-burg and Belfry. Sorry about that...lol

The quarterback is Senior, #1, Tyler Johnson, Logan is a Junior Wingback.

I thought Pike Central would take this one...but Valley surprised me.
