Good job Fleming, scoring a td and faking the extra point with 56.1 seconds left was a real classy move. Hope Breathitt hangs 100 on you.

That is a classy response as well!
I was at the game, but not on the sidelines, so I don't know what was called. However, I do know that Fleming's kicker was hurt and out of the game and they had missed their previous extra point attempt. I don't know if it was a called fake or if a bad snap caused them to throw it. Either way, it was a basic play and Powell should have been prepared to defend it. Fleming's extra point team is made up of all underclassmen, so to me it was not cheap. Did any of Powell's coaches tell their kids to watch for the fake? That is the real question. If I was playing a team and their kicker was out (and they were penalized for hitting him, so they knew he was out) and their backup had shanked one, then I would be telling my kids to watch for the fake.
Back to the game, I thought Powell hung in really well. Their defense gave Fleming's passing game trouble and their freshman Qb played well.

i heard the only reason they lost was because whenever jesse rose got hurt, they gave up. but idk if thats true. i think powell jus got outplayed.

No, they should have just ran out the clock. Powell was out of timeouts and a classier guy would have ran the clock out.

Actually launch pad is fairly accurate. Sounds bush league

This is my last response on this issue. If it is bush league for a freshman to score a TD at the end of a game (with nearly 2 minutes on the clock) than I will agree with you. A freshman scored, Fleming sent out their sophomore/freshman extra point team and they threw it in for 2. BIG DEAL!!!! Get over it! Fleming may very well give up a 100 to Breathitt, but if they do Powell better not even show up!

look powell co is learning a new offense and defense. and compared to the past scores against fleming co which ranged from 70-50 to o powell co has improved. they played and lost end of story better luck next year.
