What school is your arch enemy ? And Why ?
#1
I'm curious Superman had Lex Luthor , Batman had the Joker and Big girls has spandex shorts. So who is your teams arch rival ? And why ? I will hold my opinion until others respond.

I always thought that Belfry and Prestonsburg was always arch-enemies. Because I remember going to those games and the fans absolutely hating each other.
#3
Prestonsburg arch rival has to be Belfry. Mostly because of the atmosphere the game has, and money each school brings in from there matchups.

Unfortunately, the people of Johnson County cant get over the Paintsville-JC rivalry. To me it just isnt all that special anymore. I personally would like to see the fans of Johnson County come out to games like Belfry and Ashland and have those become our new rival.
#5
I think it is hard to have an out of class "arch rival" because most of the time out of class foes cannot eliminate you from the playoffs. I would have said Somerset or Beechwood, but with the new re-alignment Probably Hazard, because they raise some many problems by being so talented and athletic that it is hard to dominate them physically every time you walk on the field.

Belfry's is now Russell now
#7
I can remember when they were rivals every year (same district) then with all these realignments and things it kind of went to the way side, but with the last couple of years in the same class together again it has been renewed. I think though that Russell BIG rivalry has always been ASHLAND.

Honestly I have to say PCC, ya kno the crosstown rival thing, but in reality i agree with panther up there and i would say pikeville.

Powell's arch rival is Estill Co. It's a border war. Powell usually plays Estill pretty tough. They beat us pretty good this year but Powell has beaten them quiet a few times.
#10
The biggest rival ever use to be Prestonsburg and Belfry, but thanks to the new classes we are not on each others schedule... The new Rival is Belfry/Russell... I would like to see Belfry drop Pikeville an play Prestonsburg again...

Good Comment!
I remember going to the state football championships a couple of years back. Danville won, as well as Boyle County. Those people were proud as hell of those two teams. No matter what school they were there for they sure looked to be there for both. They are a small group in Johnson Co. that is smart enough to support both.

Our arch rival is Powell Co. Why, just because.

Prestonsburgs Big Rival Used To Be Belfry- Well You Know- We Had Coach Haywood Before They Did....... Now- I Would Say That Our Big Rivalry Is Probably Breathitt Or Bath......
#14
Russell -Ashland regular season
Russell- Belfry in the playoffs..

But recently it would have to be everyone that Russell plays....You have an X on your back after back to back state games.

If Prestonsburg and Belfry are great rivals, then they shouldn't have let the game go off their schedules just because they're not in the same class anymore. If I was a fan of one of these teams I'd be ticked off, and you guys should be too.

You are right. Somebody needs to tell Coach Derosset to man up and get Belfry back on the schedule after next year.

For Russell fans I would say it is Ashland, not so much for Ashland fans, for Raceland fans, I think it will definetly be Russell starting next week

Belfry and SC

They shouldn't get to fired up about it. Raceland will only be on the schedule through next year.

Well I can only imagine how unbearable raceland folks will be if they win this game.

ER's enemy in every sport has always been shelby valley
#25
prestonsburgs main rivals have been belfry and breathitt for a long time, but now with us not playing belfry and the breathitt game having no outcome on the playoffs (still a war), i would have to say pikeville..

At Whitley the arch rival is undoubtedly the score board.

You're right Kayaker, i wish everyone else would get over it too. Personally I consider Paintsville's "arch enemy" to be Pikeville. Year in and year out (most of the time) when these two teams play it determines the district champion.

Pikeville without a doubt as an arch enemy. Russell as just a good rivalry.
