Prestonsburg OF/P Bobby Hughes may not be on alot of people's list but IMO, he will end up winning the 15th Region MVP award. He has everything to prove this season, where he tore his ACL causing him to miss the playoffs in football, and miss basketball season. So look for him to play hard every game this season.

Also, add Tyler Dotson from Belfry to that list.
He's a very young Senior if I remember correctly. He can absolutely pound the ball, and is not a bad pitcher.

Bobby is a good player, but I'm gonna keep him off the list for now just because I don't see him bein 100% by baseball season.

I've been talking to him about baseball season, and he told me he has already been working on some things. And he will be close to full health by the time that the season starts. He is probley the most athletic person I've seen in person in awhile at Prestonsburg, not too mention he may be one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Did he have surgery?

If he's back by baseball season I'll be suprised. ACL recovery ain't no walk in the park. Tate Harmon was lucky to be back by baseball season our senior year and he tore his durin our last scrimmage game (football) against Bourbon County. I hope he has a speedy recovery and makes it back by baseball, I hate to see a good athlete miss out cause of an injury.

Well you just got to consider how bad the tear was. Some pro and college athletes come back from a not too severe tear in a matter of months depending on their rehab. My brother's blown knee was awful. Done it playing baseball down in a college tourney in Florida and he was out for a year and still isn't 100% after all the rehab he's had in both Paintsville and Pikeville. He had several screws put in to hold everything in place. Let's just hope its not that bad.

Shane Williamson - Lights out starting pitcher for Belfry.

Does Johnson Central have anyone to fill the spot for Fyffe? Is Mike Conley a pitcher? He's a good athlete at just about every sport he plays but I wasn't thinking he was a pitcher.
11-09-2007, 04:17 PM
I would think Mike will be one of the aces on the team this coming season. If I recall correctly, he was the starting and winning pitcher in Game 3 of this year's Sectional finals for JC. Doesnt come with the heat that Fyffe did, but has nice control and does real good job of keeping batters off balance.

Bobby Hughes and Josh Rodebaugh - Prestonsburg

Hayes couldn't play last year so does that mean he's layed off a whole year without practice? If so then he won't do anything...I'm seein Scotty Little and Josh Rodebaugh bein the 2 standouts from the 58th

I found out this morning 11-29, that Scott has been released by Dr. Kremchek to begin a throwing program. I understand that its starts very slow.I was told that Scott could start mound work in february, and without any problems might be able to see some game action by late season. I wish Scott the best of luck in his recovery. hang in there big guy.
