#1
I can't remember reading a thread on this topic so, here goes. What do you think? I vote the 55th (Jackson City, Wolfe, Riverside, Breathitt).

Your probably right.

i would have to say the 55th, too.

Over the past four years there has been a different district winner from the 55th each year:
2007-Jackson City
2006-Wolfe Co.
2005-Knott Central (now in the 53rd)
2004-Breathitt Co.

Good point, which indicates there's been no dominant team lately. But I think Breathitt is on the verge of a decent run in this very weak field. I think they return every starter on an already young team. Future looks promising.

Yes. The 55th is the weakest link.
#7
Yes i agree with you all and I also think that Breathitt could dominate this district for a few years to come.

Over the past 10 years the 55th district has the fewest regional tournament wins among the four districts that make up the 14th region.

1. 54th (32-15): Hazard (14-4), PCC (11-6), Leslie (7-5)
2. 56th (20-17): Powell (11-7), Lee (9-8), Wolfe (0-1), Estill (0-1)
3. 53rd (11-18): Flem-Neon (4-4), LCC (3-1), Whitesburg (3-6), Jenkins (1-3), KCC (0-1), Letcher (0-1), JBS (0-2)
4. 55th (7-20): Breathitt (4-8), KCC (3-6), Cordia (0-3), Jackson (0-2), Wolfe (0-1)

*Regional Championships: 54th (5), 56th (3), 53rd (2), 55th (0)

Are there any neighboring regions with similar weak districts, or is the 55th the worst?

The 58th in the 15th region is very comparable. 2007 records:
S. Floyd (0-16)
Betsy Layne (2-22)
Allen Central (16-18)
Prestonsburg (16-17)

55th in 2007.
Riverside Christian (1-13)
Wolfe Co. (4-18)
Jackson (15-9)
Breathitt Co. (18-12)

Looks like the 55th had somewhat of a better win %, even though its failry below .500.Smile
