Who all votes for this...because IMO first team for everything makes sense. But after that...the second third and honorable mentions are the biggest load of crap ive ever seen. Good job and congrats if you were selected...not taking nething away. But i think the selection and choices were very flawed.

Congrats to Dustin May!

Congrats Charlie Banks! Honorable Mention All-State!

Congrats to Tyler Jones -Russell- linebacker.. who actually was a defensive end and how he made linebacker is strange...

The answer to this question may make you even more irritated.
The CJ All-State team has long been the most accepted All-State team because this is the coach's choice.
For Belfry fans:
1st team-
RB Dustin May (Tied for most votes)
2nd Team
OL Jimbo Stanley
3rd Team
DT Phillip Hickman
Honorable Mention
PK Glenn Earnest
Absolutely blows my mind that Allen Craynon wasn't even honorable mention. 2004 yards rushing with 27 TD's all the while sharing carries with Seth Setser who nearly had 1000 yards himself. Typical Central Ky/Lousiville Bias in the voting. Magoffin County's Jordan Howard was Honorable Mention 742 yards. PATHETIC!

Congrats Dustin May. Allen Craynon for Pburg should have for sure been atleast an honorable mention with over 2000 yards rushing and close to 30 TD's.

EKUAlum05 Wrote:The answer to this question may make you even more irritated. It really shows which coaches voted and which ones did not. Historically less than half of the coaches across the state return their ballots. Its flawed obviously but so is every other method of choosing these kinds of honors.

But you are taking away from the kids that have made the list with your comments. Whether you intended to or not.
Congrats to all the players. You worked hard and deserve all the rewards.

What makes the first team a better selection than the second or third . They are just as reputible, calling them a load of CRAP now come on.

I personally think they know this player was deserving so they reward them when maybe they should rethink the one they gave the other position to and call a tie or just not reward anyone? Help anypne got any oppinions here because I sometimes think that maybe only first place teams or one to 3 players named first for their dist, then one selected by??????

Ok, maybe a load of crap was a little bit harsh. I feel that the first team selections all made sense and were good choices. But, as far as the 2nd and 3rd or honorable mention...I think there were players more deserving of selection to some of those positions. I see now that most of the football coaches send back their ballots but not all, and that is why these honors seem a little bit flawed with selections. But I do NOT intend to take away from the players selected...congrats-im sure many were deserving and if you made it feel special and cherish it because it is a great honor. I just say, that some players deserved selection to the all-state honors more than others. Thats all..I apoligize if i offended neone--i was aggravated...

Why are you singling out Jordan Howard and saying that he is not deserving of any type of mention?

Congratulations, to all the players who received recognition for their hard work!

Congratulations to Daniel Harmon, Jordan Johnson, Ted Honaker, and Clay Elliott for making the All-State team.

I'm just saying that if he is HM then Allen should be too. I just used him as an example because that was the only one that I cared to look the stats up for. I don't know who Jordan Howard is, I'm sure he's a nice player. But it is a travesty that Allen Craynon, with the stats he had, did not make atleast Honorable Mention.
12-27-2007, 05:59 PM
Craynon should be an all state honorable mention for sure. He and Sester are a great backfield!
12-27-2007, 09:06 PM
I think Ryan Preston should have made it!!! He made some awesome tackles and interceptions at pivotal points in games!!! Go Ryan P.

This thing isn't that accurate, Highlands, look how many players they had make all state, they had the top defense in KY, you know this can't be accurate, I was told most of these votes were casted before the playoffs, so that left out a whole lot of talent for all of these voters to see play.

Congrats to ALL the kids for makeing the ALL-State Team great Job!!!!!!!

I agree, congrats to all. But I thought Adam Foster should have at least made honorable mention on the offensive line for his 2 year's of work and holes he made for Ivan's wing-t.
By the way, in the article link listed above, I do not see the defensive side. Where could I see that?

Congrats! To Shane Pack, sophomore from Lawrence County for making 3rd team all-state for punting. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see you in baseball.

I would agree that a player who rushed for over 2000 yards must be doing something right. When you say PATHETIC I'm hoping that you are refering to him not making the list and not the young man that made it. That would be wrong.
