I thought this kid was to go to somewhere bigger than Austin Peay.

He has a better opportunity to play and learn more about the game at a smaller school, such as. Good luck to him and his family.

Austin Peay is a good size school that went 7-4 in 1-AA last season. Nathan should be an excellent addition to an already talented team. Great to see someone from east Kentucky get an opportunity to play college football at a highly competitive level.Appalachian State plays in 1-AA and look who they beat up on! Good luck and congratulations Nathanial.

They are a member of the OVC and compete in what was formerly known as Division I-AA but is now known as the FCS (Football Championship Series) Division 1.
But to say "D-1" is misleading because practically everyone in the nation still considers D-1 to be schools in the FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision).
Congrats to Dials and his family. Getting a scholarship in football anywhere in the nation is a big deal whether it is FCS, FBS or NAIA. Many, many players would give anything just to get to play another 4 or 5 years.

Congrats to Nathaniel and his family. Alot of hard work went into getting him to the next level and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving young man. Althogh I'm gonna miss watching him at JCHS next year.
Just want to say thank you to Nathaniel for all the wonderful plays I got to watch him make the last two years and thank you for showing that student athletes can excel off the field too. It's being wonderful getting to know you and you're family. Hopefully, we can make it down to Austin Peay next season to see you show them how it's down in Eastern Ky.
your JCfootball family!!

I have always considered EKU and the rest of the OVC as D-1, oh well.
But anyway, congratulations to Dials and Johnson Central:Clap:

Why is something like that said everytime someone chooses to go to a place that is not considered D1? Bigger is not always better. Kids are made to feel inferior by a bunch of know nothings that post on these message boards if they choose to go to college somewhere other than a D1 school. I wonder how many kids that after being hyped to no end on these message boards feel that they have failed when they dont have the tons of D1 offers coming in that some knotheads on these boards project them to be? How many just have it in their heads that anything short of a D1 offer is beneath them, because they read what gets posted on here? Baseball in particular is one sport that I can think of that cannot claim as D1 being better. There are a bunch of players and programs in DII, DIII, JUCO,and NAIA that are much superior than those D1 players and programs. Some kids are smart enough to realize that academic oportunities come first.
I have been through these recruiting ordeals more than once and have found out that kids should find a place to go to college first based on what academic opportunities exist at a particular school first, and then consider the athletic opportunities second and not worry about what some of these eastern Kentucky knuckleheads say and how they judge their athletic abilities based on where they decide to continue their educations at. Truth be known most of the ones that have the expert comments probably never played sports to begin with, and really dont have the first clue about anything about it all.
I swear, some of us here in eastern Kentucky are some of the most ignorant creatures on the face of the earth when it comes to some things. There are probably countless thousands of kids that would give their eye teeth to be able to play at Austin Peay or some other college that doesn't carry the D1 label, and then you have a kid that actually does get the chance, you have one of those clowns get on here and say, "Boy I thought he would go someplace bigger than that". My, but we certainly live in our own little worlds around here.

What better opportunity can a kid ask for than to be able to receive an education while playing a game that he loves.
