Satellite Falls Out of Orbit
#1
A U.S. spy satellite has fallen out of orbit in space and will fall to earth, the exact location of its crash landing is unknown.

Well thats not good. I think if it would have killed someone than we would have heard about it already,so thats good that no one was hurt (that we know of). I hope they find it

Its still falling... The report says that it won't hit earth till late February or early March.

oh haha...sorry. I read over it too quick and didn't realize. I feel stupid now....well, in that case I hope no one gets hurt!

And they say that guys are stupid... Smile

Just kidding with you.

They will probably shoot it out of the sky if they think that it will hit a bad place. Imagine if it hit China or Iran....

Now that would be scary, they should know where its going to hit once its gets closer to our atmosphere.

I read it has hazardous materials on board, and who knows what could happen if it gets in the wrong hands geeze!
#9
Yay!! Wow that sucks lol.
#10
Guess we better keep our heads up for awhile! lol

Or down in this case, lol.

Iraq or North Korea sounds like a good location to me.

And give them a lot of our technology or anything else that the sattelite holds? What if we were spying weapons locations in either of those countries that they were hiding and they find out that we know?

Maybe it will miss me!! lol Well it has a better chance of landing in the ocean than anywhere. But maybe they can use it as target practice as it enters the earth's atmosphere. It would be like shooting down a missile. Good luck if they try! In the meantime, run for your bunkers!!
#15
I hope it hits Iran's nuclear facility that they are just getting up and running. That would be a big kaboom.

If it falls from orbit at thousdands of miles an hour and crashes into land without a parchute...I won't worry about anybody finding anything identifiable to use??????????????Rolleyes

I'd imagine that it's made out of material strong enough to withstand very very powerful impact, and while it may not be able to keep the outside perfect, I'd imagine that it could probly protect the objects inside to some degree.

Planes hit the ground at hundreds, maybe thousands of miles an hour, yet the black boxes are always in perfect condition, and there's viewable pieces on the ground and places.

What if it hit water?

Maybe it wouldn't be able to be used, but I'd say that there's a good enough chance that information could be recovered to not make it an impossible idea.

In conclusion, good call on the Rolleyes

Good Point but planes crash while falling from inside our atmosphere. The object in question would be falling from Orbit. Iron ore meteors bombard the planet everyday but the rentry into the Earth's orbit pretty much renders them small particles if any of the objecy at all survives the rentry.

The structure/material of it was strong enough to get into space through the atmosphere and on space shuttles it's strong enough to come back in. I imagine that it will hit the atmosphere going pretty fast which would keep it from burning up when combined with the strength of the material. Also, it's strong enough to withstand any crashes of debree or rock into it at high speeds in space. Plus it will be a pretty big metal object, so it won't burn up that easy.

The angles of entry/re-entry are different. Heat build-up is not as high when leaving the atmosphere.

The U.S. Navy shot the falling U.S. Spy Satellite down on its first attempt as it was expected to land in the Pacific Ocean.

No more worries!
#22
I was hoping it would land on my truck!
#23
Well something is up with the satellite because if it was a weather satellite or something then we would have heard about it. But where they are keeping the info conclusive about this satellite then they don't want someone knowing something IMO! It don't matter because we will shoot it down and have the technology to know where it will hit, so we will just gather what we shot down in only a matter of time. That is why we kick a*s!
#24
I heard on the news that the Navy shot it down. Also heard that the Chinese was going all around to try to get it when it finally fell to earth. I've about had it with the Chinese, I've said for a long time that they are secretly at war with us.

Even so, if it were going to burn up when it enters, there wouldn't be all this rush to shoot it down, and the Chinese wouldn't be rushing to get it

Is there any proof of the Chinese trying to collect this?

Why do the Chinese want it anyhow? Do they know something we don't?

It was a spy satellite that could hold valuable information...maybe.

OOhhhh. I was thinking like satellite TV. I'm so dumb! Well, I hope it doesn't get in the wrong hands then

They blew it all to pieces before it fell, I doubt anything is left.

It's my opinion that we didn't blow it up because of the "dangerous fuel" on board. I think it's because we didn't want anyone else getting any information that may have been on it.
