What is your favorite memory of a sporting event you actually saw in person and why? College, High School or Professional
Mine would probably be this year's UK vs U of L football game. It was a huge win against a top ten team for the Cats. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible before, during and after the game. Commonwealth Stadium was packed and that is by far the loudest it has been for any game I have attended there, especially when Stevie Johnson scored the winning touchdown.

I was also at the UK/UL game this year. Best atmosphere I've ever witnessed at a UK football game! Also I hate to admit it but the 2002 UK/LSU football game where LSU caught that **** hail mary to win...

I don't have one, but my friend wqas lucky enough to see us beat the #1 team in the nation!! LUCKY!!!
1996 Paintsville State Championship
2003, UK defeats then #1 Florida at Rupp
2003, UK vs. UofL football game. Nearly robbed by a scalper but got my money back and took his tickets. Game was a blow out and had a 2 hour weather delay from a monsoon sweeping through Lexington. Only exciting thing that happend this particular day was before me and my friends walked in Commonwealth.
2006, #5 UofL defeats #3 WVU at Papa John's

1999 Food City 500 - Dale Earnhardt spun Terry Labonte on last lap to win and was booed never thought I would witness this ever. Nearly 60,000 people booing Earnhardt, who would have thunk it.
2006 Colts vs. Bengals - Tied highest amount of point scored in one half.
2006 Prestonsburg won the 58th District Title and we all stormed the court and watched them cut down the nets, a personal best moment just being their with my friends in the student section!
Stupid me gave of my ticket for the UK and Georgia game last season when we upset them. DOH!!1

I was at the Daytona 500 when Richard Petty rolled the fence down the straight stretch..
I was at the 1990 UK/LSU basketball game when Pitino's Bombinos beat Shaq, Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts' LSU team 100-95..
I was at the 1997 UK/UT football game, Couch had 476 yards passing and Peyton Manning had 523..awesome atmosphere..
I was at the 1990 Daytona 500 when Earnhardt had a tire go down and Derrick Cope took the checkered flag on the last lap..
and unfortunately, I was there at the '97 UK-Bama game when Couch threw the touchdown pass in OT..UK wins 40-34..I was the guy in the #37 Shaun Alexander jersey slumped over the seat in front of me while everybody else was on the field, lol

UK vs. LSU! Best football game I have ever seen in person. Campus was crazy that night!

I was San Antonio in 1998 when UK won the NCAA Championship.
I was also there for three state championship games at Pikeville.
Pikeville has had only two regional titles in basketball since 1974 and I was apart of the last team (1999) that went.
Too many more to name.

TidesHoss32 Wrote:I was at the Daytona 500 when Richard Petty rolled the fence down the straight stretch..As I were at these events as well. But mine was Tom Browning's PERFECT GAME in 88. I was in Cincy for a little league camp and our camp took us to the game that night with only around 15,000 people and the funny thing about it, they was wanting to take us back to the hotel because of a 2-3 hour delay during the game, lol. The thing about Browning's perfect game was that the opposing pitcher(I believe it was Tim Belcher) had 6 no hit innings as well, but not alot of people can say or will never be able to say that they seen a MLB perfect game pitched. I was also in Cincy the day after McGuire broke Maris's homerun record. The most UNREAL atmosphere EVER! I was at Marshall when Randy Moss played his first football game as well as Chad Pennington. I have been to almost every UK football/basketball game from 1996 and on and seen the UK/LSU games and the UL/UK games along with the first one ever in 1994 between the 2 teams. I am sure other games will come to mind.

We broke the record for having the most people's bodyies painted at an event. We all got painted orange. And the people from the Guniess Book of World Records came so it was official and everything. It was unbelievable. The whole pep section overflowed with orange people. I have the shirt and still have the newspaper article about it.
The girls state tournament last year was something awesome too. I'm proud to say I was there cheering them on! Very proud of those girls

It might not be a very big event or anything, but my I was there moment happened back in December. I went to see Princeton play at Marshall. I've been a Princeton fan for a long time and to see them play live was something Ill never forget. It was also special because the person I went with lived in another state but she drove here to KY the morning of the game and then didnt get mad when I got us lost after the game haha. It was a great moment for me personally and I had a lot of fun cheering on the Tigers even though they lost.
