WYMT: do they have any journalistic credibility anymore?
#31
I think it was told to WYMT by 2 different people.
#32
I now know that it wasn't leaked by anyone inside the Pikeville School System.

I have heard this as well. But how can we be sure that this rumor is not being spread by Copley supporters?

My source doesn't even know Coach Copley!

It sounds like you guys are saying the coach from Dunbar made the call himself.
#37
Why would people who want Copley as the coach start a rumor that he did not get the job? That would make about no sense. Sounds like somebody is trying to make a big joke out of this whole process and of PHS as a whole. Anybody that would do that has no moral value.

I see a possible motive by someone who wants Copley. Maybe they thought if they let this info out on Hensley, then the admins would jump on whoever reported it and go with Copley as the choice, just to try and look like they had nuthin to do with the leak.
And honestly, I dont think that scenario is too far fetched.
Would someone at Pikeville do that? I dont know, dont know enuff about them to say that. But I know of shenanigans like that having taken place before over positions at other schools.

I could see it happening at any school in Pike County. Nothing against Pike County. I just personally think it is the most politically driven education/coaching county in the state.

This thread is about WYMT and not the "pikeville football coach conspiracy"

Stay on topic please.

With all due respect, the two are intertwined, Fox.

The thread question of WYMT's credibility is in large part dependent upon the "coaching conspiracy" as you put it. More specifically, the question of who leaked the report to WYMT and why.

I don't see how we can separate the two and/or discuss one without allowing discussion of the other.

I agree they lie hand in hand as well as anything else being discussed I don't understand how this is not on topic?

I believe the two are part of the same topic.

WYMT probably didn't follow some of their policies and reported without concurring with the proper authorities. I would say they have learned a valuable lesson.

Didn't Dan Rather(or somebody like that) do the same thing about Bush? It happens to alot of media outlets.
