Lack of depth all around will be their big problem, especially at quarterback and on offensive and defensive lines. Learning a new system will take awhile, but I think if the boys and parents get behind the coaches everything will work out.

I have faith in the new coaching staff and I think they are the right ones for the job. I like the new Head Coach and he is an azz kicker from what the boys have been telling me. To me, for LC to start gaining ground again is to replace someone else who has been a deciding factor here lately for the football team and its not anyone on the coaching staff whom I am referring to.

Get the kids out that are in the school system.
We just don't have enough kids out for the size school (4a).

East Carter was added to LC district, but that does not take effect until 2009 and will be in effect for the '09 and '10 seasons, and then the KHSAA will realign again.

Look for a couple of freshman step up and contribute a lot this year... They probably wont start but could see alot of playing time..
Also Nick Hackney a speed burner and Josh Wilks another speed burner will help out on both sides of the ball this year and if I am not mistaken both are SR.
Also Josh Mills will be a threat this year at WR. Runs the best routes I have seen anyone run in years... also has decent speed to go with the good hands.

Josh Wilks coming out is a big help for LC, the kid is tough and got some wheels.
07-25-2008, 05:03 PM
GREAT to heat about new players coming out that maybe didn't play last year.
07-25-2008, 08:57 PM
Keep an eye on Josh Mills. Last year this kid was open on just about every passing playbut was seldom picked up by the QB. If LC is going to pass the ball this year I look for him to have a big season. If he can stay healthy. Good Luck Dawgs it's almost show time:Cheerlead

I agree he runs the best routes and has good hands... He puts alot of extra time in running routes and getting ready.... as do a lot of other kids on the team.

I did notice the other day that during the drills they were running that they were practicing with more intensity than I have seen in a long time. The new coaching staff is very excitable and thats always good.

i wish the best of luck to coach Salmons and the Dawgs in 08 but a friend of mine was telling me that the Sept. 12 game at Sheldon Clark will be the last as the contract will not be renewed. This has always been a big game for both teams but from what I have heard is that it was Salmons that decided to not renew. Thats a rumor:1:

I was just watching some old games from the good years we had in the past (1997-2001) and realized that the talent level in those years is no better then what we have in there right now. I mean there was some great players in those years but from size and speed stand point, we are right there where we was then. IMO with hard work and determination we can be back to domination in no time at all. I'm really looking forward to the up coming season to see how we will fair. Good luck dawgs and wish you all the best this season.
