Anybody watch that David Blaine special tonite? With the 60 hours of hanging upside down and stuff. But the Dive of Death...what the **** was that??? He had cables tied to him and then jus freakin flew away or some ****???
I jus caught like the last 45 mins, so if anyone can explain to me just what the **** that was all about, please do so.

I think the ending "dive of death" didn't go as they had planned. It became obvious when they just pulled him up and took off.

I think he was supposed to land on his feet at the bottom, but the rope caught a little too soon and it showed the trick (that he actually had a harness on). If you looked at the crowd's reaction, they were all just like, "uhhhhhh???"

So I think something went wrong. If you go back and listen, the guy commentating didn't really know what to say after that either.

I watched it on YouTube and I don't understand it either. Apparently the rope attached to him was too short and stopped him too soon showing that he had a harness on. Then he was like pulled away by black balloons (says people that were there live) and just moved far enough away that they could barely see him yet still see him.

I don't know. I guess it just messed up somehow.. And for all of the promo "This will be his best stunt.......or his last..." It may as well have been his last, he didn't die but who wants to see more from the guy, seriously?

Does anybody remember when Geraldo Rivera had a two or three hour special on opening the vault or secret room or something in Al Capone's house? Turned out nothing was in there (not Jimmy Hoffa, not Amelia Earhart...nothing). Maybe this guy can do a dive of death into Al Capone's secret room...that might be a show.

Yes I do, I thought he was dumb before and this just proves how big of a joke he is and magic.

Well, his stunts drew in crowds before but I think that everyone who saw this one or will see it before his next one will be less likely to care. I don't think it will be THE END of him, he will come back and try to get his name cleared but not many will care.
