I bet the ex paintsville school offical and the present public county office holder wished they had not decided to"take pictures" of some JC players homes now. Matney is justifed if he keeps his first team in all the game and scores all he can. And the player who had his house picture taken is playing this year and will probably be motivated!

It peaked my interest in hearing someone claim that Matney would be "justified" in scoring as much as possible.

"Justified" implies someone did something to him. The suspension at the beginning of the year is the only thing I know that has worked against Matney. I was wondering if there was a connection...

Well I am not going to say a whole lot, but listen their are bigger fish to fry. He will pull the starters IMO. To wrongs does not make a right, you look and you smile, and whip them every year. :kneel:

An ex paintsville school offical and one of our current county office holders and an ex paintsville jv coach, intiated the investigation. The kid in question will play tommmorow night. paintsville knows they can not beat Matney on the field so they have to hide and do it behind the scenes. Thursday everything comes front and center on the field, lets see who was right then.

Assuming you even know what you are talking about, I doubt that anyone really cares but you!! The game will be what it is and if Matney would be dumb enough to leave his starters in after a big lead against any team, including Paintsville, he would lose my respect as a coach. Not because of not wanting to run up the score, but for putting his playoff chances in danger just to make a point. I doubt that Matney would be that unprofessional or selfish since he is such a good coach and would like to win a state title!!

This isn't the first place I've "heard/seen" this info. I honestly don't know if it's the truth or not. But here is what puzzles me.....If there was no basis to it and it was just "some Paintsville people out to get the Eagles" then why did Matney have to serve a suspension?

How could a football game prove Coach Matney "right" in regards to "an ex paintsville school offical and one of our current county office holders and an ex paintsville jv coach"? Didn't said investigation find Matney in the wrong (hence the suspension) ??

This was a big deal to the JC fans and Matney. Matney's two game suspension and the KHSAA are a joke. The"revenge" will be the victory Thursday and the success of the JC program. paintsville can not stop either.

Well.....I am really cracking up at some of you!! The Eagle's might win. They are heavily favored too anyway. But do some of you all think that all this smack you are spouting is supposed to intimidate anyone? Trust me when I tell you that Tigers don't get scared! You might beat 'em, but you don't scare anyone. I really wish you would try and run the score up as much as possible. Really I do. Even if you won 99-0 it wouldn't do anything to Tiger Spirit! It wouldn't even phaze it!!! Go ahead....give it your best shot! JCHS has a bunch of woderful kids and even a few great adults(includind a few coaches and administrators) But no matter how much the ones that get on here and spout about how great you are(and this is not all of you as some make very intelligent posts) can spout all you want. But you will never make a Tiger feel inferior....It ain't in us! But you can at least stop feeling inferior yourselves now....you have earned it.

This thread is hilarious. Grown men and women are getting on here to bicker back and fourth like twelve year olds. I think this is truly the highlight of some peoples day. Anyway, JC will beat Paintsville as bad as they want. If PHS were smart they would run the ball as much as they can to save some face because passing is just going to put more time on the clock for another JC touchdown.

Just curious who's bringing the cannon? Because it could sound like WWIII over at Memorial Field.

Nice post. It seems the tigers are much more humble and looking for ways to be proud these days. The JC program turned around when they quit worrying about beating paintsville and set thier sights higher where they should have been. Lets hope neither team gets anyone hurt and get this behind us and on to district play. I will go to the game because I think it will be the last between these two teams. JC can bring in a big name team and make more money and give the fans a better show. Good luck to both teams as they go down the district trail.

As much as I would like to agree with you and have said myself many times, I dont think this will be the last of this series, not yet. Paintsville needs this game to much not to play it or it would have been ended years ago. I personally am for a Bowl were the 2 teams play others teams on Friday night, like the Apple Classic back sometime in the 90's when the 2 team messed up scheduling and ended up play the week after the Apple Festival.

Paintsville likes this game as it is a good money maker. But teams like P-burg and pikeville bring in good money as well. But I like the fact that more and more of us are starting to see things alike.
