The 2nd Presidential Debate
#1
After the debate tonight I noticed that McCain backed away from a handshake from Obama. Instead he pointed to his wife and Obama shook McCain's wife's hand.

What's the deal with that?

Also, what's the deal with McCain using the term "that one?" Was that appropriate?

As for the debate, I think this debate was a draw tonight. Both sides did pretty well as far as substance goes, but Obama looks more comfortable when he's up there. McCain has a tendency to look goofy at times.

But again, as far as substance goes, I think this one was a tie.

I also noticed the "that one" comment and I thought it was inappropriate as well.

This could be McCain's "looking at his watch moment".
#3
I believe it was a draw as far as the actual substance of the debate. I hate when people start talking about body language and tone. Really the debate is about the issues. With that being said every time Obama speaks i feel like i'm being lectured or spoken down to. While McCain makes me feel at ease for some reason. His personallity is easier for me to relate to.
#4

Again, what is the source.

Because CBS Polls shows Obama was the winner:

Obama - 40%

McCain - 26%

Tie - 36%

60000 people have and Mccain got 86% fron real american voters not a fixed poll.

Maybe i'm over looking something but i believe you need to go back and read your source again. The link and numbers you posted seem to be about uncomitted voters. If that is so your post is misleading.

Most major news sources use uncommitted voters that way the polls don't unfairly lean to one side or the other.

However, if you consider FoxNews' polls which allows anyone and everyone to vote, then it's obvious that Fox News' poll is going to be biased.

Who primarily watches Fox News? Conservatives, so of course their poll would lean that way.

"real American" voters that watch Fox News. Those most likely to watch Fox News are conservatives, so IMO the poll is biased.

so your saying 60000 prople all over the nation is wrong?
#20
do you not watch fox news?

Your post was misleading. You posted the numbers that would support your arguement the best. Thats not ethical. However if you would have said Obama won the debate with uncomitted voters than that would be true based on the evidence you provided. How it reads now and by the evidence you provided is just false. And your statement about fox is a generalization and you should stay away from those when trying to make a point. I never said i was a conservative or liberal. I never even mentioned fox news.

basketballwizz Wrote:so your saying 60000 prople all over the nation is wrong?

I'm not saying they are wrong, I'm saying they are biased. Everyone knows Fox News leans to the right and so do most of the viewers (that's why they watch it).

To show you exactly how this same bias works, MSNBC who is seen as primarily a liberal news source has a poll that shows Obama won 85%.

The Fox News mentions are directed towards another member.

My post was not misleading, it said "CBS Polls show Obama as the winner" which is absolutely true. CBS polls DO, in fact, show Obama as the winner. CBS chose to do a fair poll among uncommitted voters so that there would be no lean to the left or right and I am not trying to hide that. In fact, I feel that is a better representation of the public because there is no bias.

I provided the link to my source for everyone to view, I did nothing misleading.

Most people who arent on the far right tend to stay away from fox. They lie, distort, and use smear tactics to put down everyone who disagrees with them.
#25
You mislabled it on your post. It was misleading. Your poll doesn't show who won. It shows Obama is winning over some of the uncomitted voters. You were trying to use it to show who won. It does not show that even though you stated it did.

Agreed.

Just as MSNBC = Liberal, Fox News = Conservative.

#28
I didnt get to watch the full debate, but from what I seen nothing new was said or introduced tonight, so I think the debate was pretty much a tie.

You're getting redundant.

It was NOT misleading and I would like to, again, invite you to read my post.

I never said "Polls show Obama is the winner."

I said, "CBS Polls show Obama as the winner."

I'll watch Fox News whenever they become truly "Fair and Balanced," which is not what they are at the moment.
