Guys I really have no idea about this one. I hope Central can pull it out. Put I have never watched Ashland play and they say there all about defense. I do think this will be the toughest defense central will play until Highlands and to tell you the truth we can not really think we can beat them. Their in another league.
Could someone tell me how the playoffs will work this year. When I played we had to play team in another district but here lately they have been playing the same team as in their district.

Can't wait. Heard Johnson Central wanted a black out. Will not be long until time to put on all black and head north.

This year the KHSAA has football going back to the old system which has the 1 seed in your district playing the 4 seed in District 5 (Holmes), your 2 seed playing District 5's 3 seed (Dixie), your 3 seed playing District 5's 2 seed (CovCath), and your 4 seed playing District 5's 1 seed (Highlands). The 1 and 2 seeds play at home the first game. Assuming both 1 seeds win their first two games, the matchup of the 1 seeds in the third round would be at the home of the District 6 1 seed since its an even numbered year. If your 1 seed lost in the first or second round and Highlands advanced to the third round, the third game would be at Highlands. The winner of the third game would match up in the state semis with the winner of District 7 and 8. I'm pretty sure that game will be at the home field of the 7/8 District winner (regardless of seed ranking) this year. Hope that helps.

JC by two TDs at least.
Ashlands defense is very quick up front but JC should be able to run straight at them. Carter and Alber are both good backs but if the Eagles wrap up and don't let Carter break loose JC controls this game.

No way Jc puts 500 yards on ashland. I am sure jc has played some decent teams this year, but none like the tomcats. they are in for an awakening this week. they may win, but it will be a true test of there determination in all 4 quarters. ashland WILL NOT lay down.

I agree that JC will not get 500 yards and that Ashland will not lay down. This Tomcat team plays as hard as any team I have seen all year.
JC is better up front than anyteam Ashland has faced though and they will run the ball well against Ashland's defense.
I'm afraid this one might be a halloween nightmare on Elm Street for the Tomcats.

If it weren't for being in the same classification with Highlands then I would give them a shot at a state championship.

Actually by enrollment Highlands would be a 3A team. They petitioned the KHSAA to play up two classes.

This is true........I wouldnt be able to wear the ring and wear it proudly if i knew deep down that there was a team out there that could have and would have beat me u kno.........It is a kinda bitter/sweet feeling that i get when i think about it cause ik it gives us something to stride for in becoming a true powerhouse like the Cov Caths and Highlands. But at the same time that goal may never happen so?

LOL. somebody call highlands and tell them to petition a move up to division 1! I thought highlands was a bigger school, so they could be playing 3 a ball!!! that was a good respectful decision by them. shoulda moved on past 5 a. Excuse me for my ignorance, Its been a while since I have followed high school ball!

As a Highlands fan I appreciate the compliment about being able to beat a small, low division college. Don't agree with it, but appreciate the compliment. When the JC fans see the Highlands team, they are going to be shocked at how small we are. I've seen the JC team and they are much bigger and stronger than Highlands. Now I'm not saying that I think JC will beat Highlands because I believe that speed trumps size 9 times out of 10. But the JC folks will really be surprised how small we are.
Good luck to both JC and Paul Blazer tonight. I hope its a good game and no one gets hurt.

Ill take JC in a not so close game 42-21
& again what are you on cause i want some

That was the year they had the nationaly ranked team with Smith and Lorenzon. I was really surprised at how small the lines for Highlands was that particular year. They were dwarfed by SC , but we all know how that game turned out.
Good luck to both JC and Paul Blazer tonight. I hope its a good game and no one gets hurt.

If the game is close and all of the starters play the entire game, I dont think it is far fetched either that it could happen.![]()
i dont see JC rushing for 500 + yards in this game
The only time I have seen Ashland at all this season was the 4th quarter of the webcast of the Woodford Co. game and it was Ashlands pass defense and special teams play that created the comeback. It was not due to Ashlands ground defense. Some have made mention that Ashland defense was not particularly strong when the opposition ran it up the gut,so who knows.
Anywhoo, Will be a great game to watch.

I remember looking at the KHSAA alignment when they went to 6 classes and seeing Highlands as the last or next to last team in the 3A alignment. Must be nice to be able to play up two classes and still dominate.
