Are you ready for this? A-11 Offense

I'm not sure if a lot of people have seen this yet or not but it's pretty neat. I think a lot of smaller schools will move to this in the future. Trimble co. has already moved to it and they have improved a lot with it this year.

and they are on the top ten too. that offense is insane. i love it.
#3
I watched some film on it you need good QB that can throw and good recievers that can catch from what i saw.
#4
It would definatly be hard to defend
#5
those qbs on there were airing it out big time talking bout 40+ yard throws.

Small Schools, huh? Do you realize how many athletes, I mean very good athletes to run this offense? There basically is no O-Line, so you will have to have an extremely SMART QB and recievers with above average hands...

There has already been 2 threads on this.

I don't like this offensive spread... Need's more linemen. No wonder why some teams have like 50 sacks.

Did you even watch the videos? Besides it's common sense that the Defense wont be able to rush that many because there has to be DB's to cover all of the recievers. On most of the video's the D only rushed 1-3 players.....

I watched some of the video. At any rate, I do not like this offense at all.

In a nutshell you have hit exactly why a team would need this offense.

This is perfect for teams who do not have any size or strength up front, Trimble County's head coach has noted that's why they use this offense is because they would only average like 5'9 175 on their line. This gives them a chance to negate the rush with confusion and forcing them to honor every player as a receiver.

I personally do not like this offense because it is taking advantage of a rules discrepancy involving punt formations.

already is in NC - 1st offense is 15 yds for unsportsmanlike, 2nd is ejection.

word over the Summer was that the NATIONAL assoc. will close the loophople that allows this.

It's terrible! You try running that with average talent or in the mountains you will get embarrised! Gimmick! Gimmicks don't last. The A-11 is a gimmick offense and yes you might put up big numbers on terrible team but you will be embarrised by a good team. My advice is too stay as far away as possible from this gimmick offense. It is not sound at all and if you run it you wont run it long.
You might want to check Trimble's record since they went to it.

How many successfull programs or how many state titles have been won running the A-11(GIMMICK) offense in Kentucky? I rest my case.
It may look fun and wow but you will not win running this.
Could you imagine playing Belfy and you running the A-11. They would laugh you off the field. Your qb would be sacked 50 times.

Things like is taking away a physical nature of the great game of football.

Also in Kentucky I doubt many refs would actually know who are legal recivers and who isn"t

A good referee knows the rules inside and out. He knows that there is 7 men on the line of scrimmage, and the tight ends are eligible receivers. On the website, it said that many referee find this type of offense very easy to officiate due to the less amount of holding by the "lineman".

I think this style of offense is a nice change of pace for high school football. I have seen the game evolve so much at the professional and college level but not as much at the high school level prior to this style. It keeps your players healthy, it helps equal the playing field, and the kids will enjoy learning it because it's not the same power to the 4 hole. You can use your bigger men on defense and your smaller, faster players on offense. Helps keep everyone fresh and more competitive. I like it.

Gee, their website says that? That makes it the gospel, right???

Actually, most refs who've commented on other boards hate it because it is a b**** to call. Knowing the rules doesn't mean you know when they're being broken. OL have specific numbers and the refs have been conditioned to watch for certain things by those numbers. When those guys aren't wearing those numbers, though, the refs have a split second to try and rem. if that particular guy was on the LoS for a second or not. Watch the vid clips and see how many times a play woulda been flagged had the jersey been a reg. OL number.

Again, this is a coach who took advantage of a loophole in the wording, AND is trying to make a buck off of it. The formation is NOT a legal Offensive formation which is why NC is calling it unsportsmanlike. It is a Scrimmage Kick formation in which the coach has NO intent on kicking.
