The Rams are coming off an undefeated regular season with key wins over good Ashland-Blazer, Lexington Christian Academy, and Russell football teams. The rest of their schedule consisted of "should win" games, to be a great team you should win the games you should and most of the games you shouldn't. Only beating these teams by an average of 3.5 pts, how far do you think the Rams can go. They are currently ranked number 1 in class 1A, though i feel that Beechwood, is probably a better football team. You can throw rank out the window at this point, except for the fact that being number 1 you have a huge target on your back. Sure number 1 is a great accomplishment and so is the undefeated regular season. But the season begins again at 0-0 and all have made it this far, have a second chance, 3 of Racelands foes have the CHANCE of playing them again. With LCA, Paintsville, and Fairview all being in their side of the bracket. I feel that Raceland has alot of momentum and are playing very well, still though, i don't quite think they've reached their peak. Hopefully they continue to improve and cut out much of the silly penalties, special teams needs work to. If these two things can get fixed, i feel that the Raceland/Beechwood match up could become a reality. Thoughts?

I believe that they will make it until the reach Beechwood. Sorry dont wont to burst any ones bubble but Beechwood could compete in just about every class! I hope that i am wrong but i really dont see them beating Beechwood!

They'll make to Beechwood.....no further.

I agree with you that about Beechwood. They are a great football team, that is steeped in a winning tradition. Year in and year out they are contenders for the title. But, in one game, anything can happen. I noticed that Beechwood has uncharacteristicly turned the ball over almost 2 times a game. with 11 fumbles and 5 ints. Could this hurt them in the playoffs against teams like Raceland/Frankfurt/Williamsburg who have stout defenses? None have been as stout as Beechwood, but could this affect their title hopes? And judging from the LCA/Beechwood championship game last year, anything is possible at Poppa Johns Stadium

They should make a good run in the playoffs, but do not overlook the Campbellsville game if CHS makes it past Fairview......Campbellsville has a new coaching staff and is playing better than they have all year and could be dangerous....Do I think they will beat Raceland, no, but it could be a good game because CHS has a lot of talent and the new coaching staff is playing to the strengths of that talent.

Thats good, at this point in the season...Raceland needs another 4 quarter football game, they looked pretty good in the Russell game, their return game looked much better, they just need to work on their coverage game, the pass defense has stiffend up as well. they just need to quite letting the other team have 1 and 10 from the 45 yard line. The defense is good, they have bent in a few games, but never broken. I say raceland's best defense is their running game. If raceland makes it to the carpet and sees Beechwood, it should be a GREAT game. Another smashmouth football game. and seeing as it will be in the 2nd week of december, should make for a "Lambeau-esk" or "soldier-esk" atmosphere.

Raceland will win one game maybe two. Then LCA will spank them into next years playoff games were they will destroy them bad.

RUSSELL RED DEVILS

Raceland is by far the best team in the East in 1A. The only team that has a chance to stop them from going to Louisville is LCA but I don't think they are physical enough to take Raceland down.
The Rams make it to Papa Johns and then get beat by Beechwood.

All the way to 15-0 IMO.

Raceland has a great chance at winning it all but two possible road games will be hard to recover from. If Williamsburg beats LCA then Raceland has to travel to Williamsburg( if LCA wins then its back to Raceland for LCA), Then if they beat Williamsburg then Its a trip to Hazard for the 4th round unless Hazard doesnt make it that far which I'm sure they will.

They'll be at Raceland then...........

So your sure that LCA will beat Williamsburg

The 3rd round.

I'm not gonna bet the farm, but has Williamsburg EVER won a regional title? How many times have they played for one? I know the past doesn't matter, but LCA has had success recently and they put a whipping on Hazard.

Okay i will just say this. If they barley beat a so called "average" Russell then how in the world will they beat beachwood? or LCA? Eventhough they have already proven that they can beat LCA and i think they have what it takes to go all the way. But it's going to depend on how they play on any given friday. If they play like they did against Russell they will not beat Beechwood.

Doesnt really matter on how many times they have been there. How many has raceland played for? All that matters in Williamsburg is a very good team this year and has a great shot at winning over LCA and just about anyone. WOW!!! they beat hazard in the regular season big friggin woop. It doesnt count for nothing except a loss. LCA lost last year during the regular season and come back and beat hazard in the state semis to go to papa johns so u just cant count a team out.

"If they play like they did against Russell" is the only chance they have at staying with Beechwood. I personally don't think any other 1A school stays within 2 TDs of the tigers.
Raceland is far more physical than LCA and will beat them again IMO.
Russell is also better than average. They are average by their own standards but that is higher than most. That was a good win for Raceland.

LCA only had a football team 6 or 7 years. They don't have a past yet.

I have seen Raceland play twice this year, and I really think they can make a run to the championship game! IMO. I also know that on any given night anyone can have a bad game and lose a game they know they should have won. I think Raceland will make it to the 3rd round for sure and play LCA again, and that game should be a dandy!! Good luck to Raceland and I hope to see you all in Hazard in the 4th round!!

I believe they could go all the way.

you have to root for the area teams when it gets to the playoffs i hope raceland goes all the way!!!!!

I have a hunch that Raceland will make it to the title game. If Raceland plays very good with no mistakes and Beechwood stumbles I think Raceland could pull it out.
11-12-2008, 03:56 PM
not to start nothin with ya jeepman lol i dont think beechwood ever stumbles they keep moving forward lol. but whenever raceland meets up with beechwood it will end there. beechwood is just to good.

I think it stops when they play LCA. They wont beat them 2 times in a roll. Lca will stop them in their tracks. I bet they hold them to less than 100 yards rushing and 60 yards passing. And beat them by 3 tds.

F-BALL You are a man of great and emense knowledge. Boozer doesn't know who he is messing with. If the Rams get by LCA again they will go to the state championship game. They will give Beechwood everything they can handle plus a little more.

Thank you russelldevils54,we dont seem to get to much encouragement from Russell fans and each school should try to root for each other unless they are playing each other.Sure, when we played the Red Devils we wanted to win but in every other game that you all play in we root for you and its the same for Greenup, Fairview etc. I wish the Red Devils good luck!!!!!
