Channing Fugate best back in the state?

Midee1 Wrote:Now it just seems that you are fishing for some sort of justification of how good he is. No one is saying he is bad they are just saying he's not the best back in the state.

Yeah, but i don't think this guy or many people from there can get that through their head.

Magicjefferson25 Wrote:well would you say that fugate is the best white back in the state? not being racist, but is there any other white back in ky that can put up the #'s he has?

Dalton Cissell of North Bullitt probably has staked his claim to that this season too.

What does this kid need to do? He has lead his team to state, leads the state in rushing yards, and is in the top three of numerious other catogories. Is it that hard to give his kid some credit and say he ranks up there in the top two, right on Finch's hills? I do agree that Breathitt has played agianst some weaker compotistion but that isnt his fault. I mean he put up over 400 yards on LCA. I dont understand why so many people has to hate on this kid.

no one is hating on him... but the reason he did put up this much is maybe because they lost 32 seniors last year and are rebuilding... the fact of them being 1a doesn't help much either... but yeah i think you can say he may be in the top 10 he can be better then what he is tho he just hasn't reached that level yet and when he does everyone will know and then you can say he is the best in state.

Its okay man, you keep on hating and he will keep on running. I would be jelious too.

I guess we'll see in Louisville. This debate will be settled then.

no one is jealous... he is good but not as good as everyone is making him out to be... he may be as good as everyone is saying later on but he just has not reached that next level of play yet

How hasnt he reached that level? Please inform me. When i see a kid having almost 3000 yards in a season, over 35 touchdowns rushing, and more receiving the ball, AND being featured on ESPN. Now tell me how he hasnt yet reached that level?

Fugate is good, real good, but I have actually watched St. X play this year. This is JMO, but if Fugate was on that team, he might not even play offense. He would probably play defense and play it well, but Finch is not the only back they have. I know how speed is inflated many times, but they advertise 4 skill player with a sub 4.6 time. Fugate is fast for his size, they have several players that are just fast period. These guys are just as strong as well. Dont get me wrong. I dont think he could be left off of the field, I think he has to be there, but not necessarily as a back.

For one he has not won a state title. He can be a better leader cause it seems like he is not able to take a back seat for one play or anything cause when he is not getting the ball it seems like he does not try as hard or he ends up getting mad cause they do not get a touchdown or anything... yeah he should have more then 35 touchdowns with that many carries some people with less then 150 carries have around the 30 touchdown mark to.
Yeah when he gets to college or anywhere else he would not be a running back he might be a full back or a linebacker somewhere
All Channing is worried about is winning PERIOD! He doesnt care what it takes to win. If it takes Jade winning it for us, or someone other than him to get us over the hump and win, he is more than willing to do so. Channing is a great leader in the lockerroom. Im sure you already knew that though.
yeah well then why does sometime he plays defense for like the 1st quarter against some teams and then does not play it anymore and just worried about offense
How do you know he is worried about offense? Its a long game. He plays from whistle to whistle on both sides of the ball if you watch him closely. He does the old Jim Brown thing by getting up slowly and then the next play he is gone to the house for a touchdown. Channing plays alot of mental games.
If Breathitt doesn't exactly play top notch competition then how come we beat Belfry??
Fugate is a great player. No one on here ever said he wasn't. No he is not the best in the state. Get over it and stop accusing people of hating him just because the don't over exagerate his exploits the way some of you want to.

I've seen him play he is great. Very talented and will play college football.

True dat . They need to realize he will play college ball but no where near that position.

Should we also use proper spelling with that GRAMMAR?
I like how channing's name is atleast getting mentioned now lol.

lol this is a pretty big thread. i would like to see finch and fugate go head to head. that would be a game to see there.
Looks like the Russel fans are still angry about last years loss at home.:moon:

Yea it is, and that only helps with getting fugates name out there to more people. It would be nice to see both go h2h, but either way both are great backs, and i hope the best for them.

We came back last year at their place and knocked them out of the playoffs.

Yeah and the kid is only a junior. That is pretty good there. It would but i don't think they would schedule each other. That would be a ton of talent at one game right there. but yeah i agree with your post.
In 95 Chad Spencer was THE MAN;96 Homer was THE MAN;2002 Lawson was THE MAN and we beat them all.Channing is the states top rusher and NOONE'S OPINION will change that FACT.BOBCAT fans;from here on out on THIS thread;lets agree not to defend Channing to anyone.Channing's ability has/will speak for itself.Like I said before Finch is going to be watching from the stands this week.
Breathitt Bobcat Wrote:Should we also use proper spelling with that GRAMMAR?
Yeah. If you can you should try to. I'm not talking about mispelling a word or just a typo.

Amen, im getting sick of going back and forth with everyone on this thread.

No I don't think the RUSSELL (looks like everyone can mispell a word) fans are mad about that at all. It was a great game that Breathitt County pulled out at the end.

I wish you guys good luck in the finals.
You guys need to relax a little bit. No one has said that Fugate is not a great RB. He is. He is just not the best one in the entire state. You are right though. You don't need to defend him. His play on the field has already placed him among the states elite.
