God created man with the ability to think and act. How easy would it have been for a creator to create robots that act the same. He gave us freewill to have faith and the ability for us to decisde outself. He also gave us the ability, and the eapectation that we take care of each other with hil will in mind. The world has left godliness, and attempted to be God. With the advent of such things as test tube babies, I dare say that is not the will of God, but I make that assertion for my own beliefs. I don't have to atone for it, thus, it is something that I leave for God to judge, not me.
I have blessings in my life every day. I will continue to thank God for them. I don't expect that God is felt of believed as I do, but that is not for me to Judge. I beleive Gods will, will be laid out for me when I leave this world and enter his. For me, I'd rather have faith and belief that God has a greate manifestation for me after this life, than to think that all I will do when I die is rot in a grave.

This thread could go on and on and on. I do believe to each their own.
I am a Christian and I do believe in God and I believe that one day I will have an eternal life in Heaven. I think that there is too many miracles in this world for there not to be living God. Not only that, but I feel God in my life. I am at peace when I pray, I can feel his presence in church service.
For all of you that do not believe in what the bible teaches, for your sake I hope you are right. I would hate to stand before my God one day and hear those words "Depart from me, for I never knew you."

i think if your going to believe in something it should be give and take, not just give and give and hope for something in return

Vaild point, but I don't know that I would call it ego. We are made in god's likeness. We know that God can be vengefull based on the oldtestament. And we know that he can love beyond the human ability to comprehend by giving his son for our sins. So, could God have an ego, it's possible, but you also have to take the Bible by what it teaches us. A Jealous God may be taken out of context. It purely supports that God's commandment is to have no other God. The literal term of "God is a Jealous God" only supports that comandment.

God isnt required to give us anything but He is a gracious and loving God who gives us things that we do not deserve due to our sin. People might not recognize them but the fact that we wake up every morning is a gift from God.

Now this is my last comment on this thread. If anyone on here doesn't believe in God, then why continue to post. Obviously no one on here is going to convince anyone else of anything. You either believe or you don't. End of story. End of comment by me. I have said all I have to say.

Unless I remember wrong, "Depart from me" was spoken to a rather large gathered group who had claimed and thought they believed in "god" and did the work of "god."

Jesus said many people will say they believe in me but will not inherit the kingdom of Heaven. It's more than just believeing. We have to fully give ourselves to Christ. We have to give up our life, and the things of this world to recieve true life.

Matthew 7:21-23
(21) âNot everyone who says to Me, âLord, Lord,â will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. (22) Many will say to Me on that day, âLord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?â (23) And then I will declare to them, âI never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.ââ

To embrace poverty and mournfulness and meekness and blessing for curses and good for evil and love for hate is no easy or light thing... a narrow path as difficult to walk as a razor's edge.

The path that Christ wants us to walk with him is difficult. Rebeling against our flesh and living for the God is difficult at times. However, Paul says that we won't be tempted more than we can bear.
1 Corinthians 10:13
13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

You can save the posts that satifies your need to proclaim you need to display to all that you are an educated man.
For an environement like this, it serves no purpose and is rather overkill. :flush:

Id say with the wrong attitude any one could say they are greater than God, but they couldn't even tell you why they exist

I thought this environment was a place to discuss issues. I didn't know that using your own words to express your own opinions meant needing to prove anything. At any rate, back to topic....

Wonder if it ever dawns on some of these guys that think they have this "far superior intellect" as to where and by whom their intellect comes from. I also wonder if some that are so bold as to not even have the humbleness to pay reverence to their creator, by at least capitalizing his name will be quite as bold when they are face to face on judgement day. My guess is there will be a little stuttering, a little stammering, and then a whole lot of pleading.

"Jehovah" "Yahweh" "god" is a general term, like calling you "bro." instead of your name. Apparently, you have disdain for fellow human beings and rather enjoy the thought of smarmy intellectuals standing before "god" trying to explain themselves. At ease, Mr. Kimball, at ease. Xanax for you and the Star man.
