John Wall Dunking on Jerry Stackhouse
#31
Stardust Wrote:Still wrong, you obviously did not watch much of Mayo then. You did not watch Mayo because he certainly passed. At Huntington, his shooting was way down compared to NCH, un -uh, sorry but Mayo was a tremendous passer, and he was a tremendous passer because he did pass. Go back and read all his AAU write-ups and you will see how much this young man was complimented for not being selfish. Sorry KYB, we disagree on this!

Sorry not still wrong, when he has 35 points and Patterson gets two or three shots a game come on.I may be mistaken didn't Huntington lose to Scott county with him then turn around and beat them without him?And by the way I watched him close enough when he pulled a drop step dunk I got the ball as it rolled out of bounds I even watched him during his Rose Hill days and barley beat a underman Ironton team for the state title. Yeah we disagree bigtime on this one but it is all good.

:1: thats the truth right there. i watched OJ since he had been at rose hill also i think everyone who watched B-ball did. he never was a passer ask PP i'm pretty sure ever time OJ got the ball he shot if he was on the right side of halfcourt. never remember seeing him in any defensive highlights so i really don't see him being on the all defensive team!!!

O.J. sure was a ball hog in that McDonald's All Star Game in Louisville. No doubt about that.
#39
OJ Averaged 28 pts per game at Huntington and 11 assists per game. Eleven assists per-game is a ball hog hunh?

Looks pretty similar to the stats of Wall!

Lol, for those who say that Mayo was a ball-hog, you and I both know how much you watched him play then. Like I said, I had three years of watching him in person. This is not opinion, this is fact!
#40
Similar stats for Mayo at NCH: 28.1 points, 8.1 assists and 7.7

I would have to see 11 assist per game on paper and still wouldn't believe it. I watched him enough to know better than what you are selling.:biggrin:Fact was he was a ball hogg at HH.Are you sure you were watching the right guy?

I saw him play a lot in high school and he was a ball hog for the most part. You look at that Scott County game for example. He took over 20 shots and Patterson would have been better suited getting more shots, they won the next time without Mayo in the lineup. I am not saying that he is not a good player, but he is not a great player by no means. His defense is lacking, he is an incosistent shooter and he does not always give effort and that is something that he has always had a problem with. These points of view come from personal observation, talking to his former players and coaches as well. It is one thing to be a fan, it is another to be an impartial observer. Not trashing anyone on here either, that is not my intent at all.

We may be nuts but correct.

OJ has done well for himself and was high school superstar no doubt about it,even when he was at RH gyms were packed to the hilt to watch him play. At HH they had to move their games to a bigger arena.

Actually wall was probally the bigger name due to his situation, with coach cal trying to get him and everything surronding that

actually wall was not even close to mayo coming out. mayo was thought to be the next MJ coming to some.

You are correct. Mayo was being written about since the 8th grade in national publications as the next phenom. He was being projected as an NBA superstar before he ever took a High School class.

I meant him being one of the last unsigned recruits being recruited by all the top schools made him extremely televised.

Oj was highly spoken of all through his middle to high school career, fast lane tipoff at sheldon clark was very fun when he came in,
