Highlands/Beechwood Game Moved

The Sept. 4 football game scheduled between Highlands and Beechwood has been moved to Nippert Stadium.

Beechwood coach Noel Rash said Tuesday in an e-mail the change was made due to parking concerns. Beechwood is undergoing some construction and school officials were concerned their facility wouldn't be able to handle the large crowd anticipated for the game, which features a pair of back-to-back defending state champions.

The move means Beechwood, the defending Class 1A state champion, will play its first two games of the season at Nippert. The Tigers are scheduled to play Dixie Heights there in Week 1 as part of the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown.

Highlands and Beechwood are second and fifth, respectively, in Kentucky history with 18 and 11 state titles. The two programs haven't played each other since 2002. Highlands leads the all-time series 4-0. This season's meeting is the first in a two-year contract.

Not so fast my friend. Beechwood will give them a game, but I think they will loose by 10.

Highlands will beat Beechwood by 21+.....Beechwood doesn't have the overall size, strength, or speed to keep up with the Birds.

They will be absolutely loaded this year.

I agree. Beechwood is GREAT! But HHS is at a different level of great. I'd love to see Beechwood make this a contest, but I honestly think 21 will be the margin at Halftime. HHS is deep and has tons of talent. Bechwood has too many 2-way guys to keep up with the juggernaut that the Birds are...

Highlands will win this game 49-12 unless they put on the breaks after the 35-0 halftime score and start playing their sophomore class.

Beechwood will dominate Class A but they are facing a Nationally ranked team in the Birds.

Highlands by 30. Beechwood doesn't have the athletes nor players from a roster size standpoint to hang with Highlands. Nothing against Beechwood but their numbers are far less than Highlands and this may be Highlands' best team ever. Two great programs though in the state of Kentucky and two great coaches.

Nippert is actually a nice place to watch a game. This is much better than playing at Beechwood. There will be seats, parking, the possibility of a mugging.....:eyeroll:

IF this game is At Highlands and is the Season opener for them, 50+ highlands 20- beechwood.

It is actually at a neutral site. Nippert Stadium at the University of Cincinnati.
