Senior running back Andy Roenker led Holy Cross with 85 yards rushing and two touchdowns as the host Indians jumped out to a 36-0 lead.
Markel Walker rushed for 107 yards on just nine rush attempts. The senior quarterback also threw for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Bellevue's Ricky Buckler carried the ball 21 times for 177 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown run.

Cov. Holy Cross 36, Bellevue 20: The host Indians had impressive performances from several individuals in their season opener. Andy Roenker, a senior running back, had two touchdowns and 85 yards on 13 carries.
Brayson Smith ran for two touchdowns and 66 yards. He also scored on a two-point conversion for the Indians, who rushed out to a 22-0 first half lead.
Quarterback Markel Walker rushed for 107 yards and passed for 71 more.

This was to be expected...Bellevue isn't very good this year and HC is a legit 2A team up here in nky.

expected to finish 2nd behind Beechwood in their district. Bellevue is a quality team. That being said Holy Cross is a better team as this game showed. Holy Cross should make a run at it, if they can get the NewCath monkey off their back.

Bellevue plays in a very weak district. Outside of Beechwood, the rest of the teams are year in and year out some of the worst in nky.
