Congrats to Coach Shawn Hager and his Cardinals. made a believer out of me and they may now be the top ranked 3A team in the state for the time being.

Great defensive performance to shut down the high octane Breathitt offense.

Dang. Never thought that. SC must have really improved from last year. When we saw them on Log Mountian they did not impress at all.

This is why you play the games. I never read anywhere where sheldon clark was given much of a chance. Boy crow is getting eat alot tonight. Completely shut out the Mountain's # 1 team Let this game be an inspiration to all teams who are underdogs going into their games. Now I want to see my Lawrence County Bulldogs pull the same thing against the Cardinals next week but for tonight all the praise I can muster to Sheldon Clark and coach hager. He doesnt take a backseat to any coach in eastern kentucky.

Im not sure there was that much "overlooking" in Jackson this week. I truly believe that Sheldon Clark is just that good. Its only my opinion but this Cardinal team is young and have enormous room for growth and improvement.

Great defensive effort by the Cards, coach Hager outcoached Holcomb and had the per fect game plan. Unofficially Fugate had less than 30 yards rushing. Wonder if this win will move SC into the WYMT Top 10. Great way to start the season for SC.

Mountain Top 10, I would say it moves them to 2nd. Statewide AP Poll, it could move them to the top of 3A.

This is about what i thought. Sheldon Clark is stronger and a harder hitting team. Breathitt looked a little out of shape. Just like last year. Typical SC clark team though. Eat up alot of clock and played hard nose defense. They will need to play the flats better on D and turn up feild better on O. Breathitt will be ok come end of the year once they get in shape.

I should have said more in my original post..I meant Top 5 Statewide..#1 in the mountains easily...

When you are wrong, you admit it! Congrats to the CARDS as they proved that they are for real!! I do think that Fugate was sick or hurt, not the same player I have seen in the past few years, was hanging his head at the start of the game in the huddle and also on the defensive side of the ball. BC did not have anyone whom could catch the football, many drops in key situations. Now for the Cards, they swarm to the football, no going outside as they are quick ! BC was not as good on the line as in the past, but then again SC was very strong across the front on both sides of the ball. #10 for Sheldon Clark impressed me with his hard running of the ball. He is very good on the defense side of the ball also, but all in all Sheldon Clark was the Best team tonight. The best part of the Sheldon Clark team was they played TEAM ball!! The TD called back on BC was a huge call in this game!
Congrats SC and Good luck the rest of the year!!

If you look at the Bluegrassrivals picks for week 2 I had Sheldon Clark picked to win this one. I just had a funny feeling about this game.

Fugate is alot better than at this point last year. I watched them play Pburg last year and he couldn't stay on the feild long enough to make a difference. This game he was at least on the feild. Still looked out of shape. Not nearly as big as what they had said in the off season though. I wish him the best at Tennessee. By the end of the season he will play his way back into shape and be a beast again.
