Should be a dandy! Lawrence County is a lot better than they where last season. I'll take the Cardinals though by a 1-2 touchdowns.
Best of luck to both!

Any offiicial word on the status of #1?

Lawrence County is a very improved team. After sheldon clark beat the number # 1 rated team in the mountains,,like king of the hill, I see them "the cardinals" number #!. For the Bulldogs to have to beat the #1 team is quite a task. Usually most would say this is an easy pick and sheldon clark by at least 2 scores. After last nights game lets not all be so quick to not give the underdog a shot at winning. lawrence has a much easier schedule this year than in the past. That was one reason for their bad records. Nobody played a harder schedule the Dawgs. Being ask to beat the hottest team around after only enjoying their first win in 2 years might be a little too much to ask but the Bulldogs could be surrounded by ghosts from the past and a much improved team and pull the upset. Going to be a fun game to watch!!! Bulldogs in the upset 21-20:Cheerlead

I have all ways like SC and glad they are doing so well and I think they will be right in the mix at the end of the season. But for right now I look for them to be #1 for a very short time I look for the upset this week. But then I see the cards working there way right back to the top. I feel this LC team might be a little special that a lot of people don't see just yet. IMO this could be the toughest game on LC schdule. Either way this game will tell us all were the program is at. More to come later in the week. GO DAWGS.

I agree when I say LC is a lot better than what peope think about its too early in the year IMO to pull off a win against SC even though the game is in Louisa..

I will not make a prediction! As I posted on the Sheldon Clark vs Breathitt County post, "on a given night in high school football, anything can happen, and will." I know nothing about Lawrence County's team, but anything can happen. Sheldon Clark will not win automatically. If that were so, why play the game.
I recall that last week, very few thought SC had a prayer of beating Breathitt.
So, SC, play like Lawrence County is #1 and you want to displace them. You guys are loaded with talented players; be confident but not overconfident, thinking that all you have to do is show up. That is a recipe for disaster, and if you do not believe that, just ask Breathitt. I definitely think they were overconfident, and became extremely confused when SC threw their aggressive and tenacious defense at them. Also, remember, each and every down counts, and must be executed to the best of your ability.
I hope to see a good game and no injuries to either team, but obviously my allegiance is to the Cards, for I have a grandson on the team.

Lawrence County fans are dreaming.

LC fans have a reason to pumped for this game they have a solid team this year you can never count anyone out in football. The cardinals better not over look the Dawgs and better come to play or LC will be in the game. Now if Sc comes to play they will win this by 2-3 Touchdowns, good luck to both teams Friday night and lets all hope that it is an injury free game. But I gotta go with my Cards in this one.

Im so excited for the Dawgs, this will be by far there toughest game of the year! I think If the dawgs can win this one i dont see a loss for the dawgs the rest of the season! what im really pumped for is to see the transfer from nitro, runs a 4.5 40 and super elusvive win or lose for the dawgs we will be talking bout this kid the rest of the season

I have heard a lot of good things about the young man..hope the LC line can open holes for him..my biggest concern is the LC "D" because they gave up a lot of yardage against Paintsville...

well if he just became eligible last week he wouldn't be i wouldn't think. but who knows hopefully he is to make it as good as game as it can be SC needs to get better and we want the best team on the other side of the ball that could prepare us for everything.

But the jury is still out on this young man I think he's a senior but I haven't seen him take a good lick yet a lot will be told after he's been hit real good. I know he looks like he's got a lot of skills but this is football and a person has to be willing to mix it up and take a hit as well as give one. I believe SC will be bringing the leather Friday night and I can't wait to see how The Dawgs respond. I'll still take my dawgs in an old fashion slugg fest GO DAWGS

No team should be underestimated, as the SC Cards were in their game last Friday.... I do believe SC will win this game as long as the team plays as a team... for its not just one kid on the SC team that wins it.. its the entire team and our boys play awesome together.. the combined talent on this team makes us stand out.. and like i said from the beginning..this is OUR year

The Cards should win, but they had better not overlook the Bulldogs. Lawrence is a very good football team, and have something to prove after last year.
The Cards have shown the tendency over the years to have a "letdown" after a big win. They cannot afford to fall into that trap.
