Bell Co @ Whitley Co 9/11

BluegrassBuckeye Wrote:You're right. I don't take this board very seriously. It's High School football for crying out loud. It's irrelevant. I compare this years Bell team to Boyle County's 2004 team. They were coming off of the last of their five state titles and beat a lot of teams that year simply because they were Boyle County. Several teams layed down for them. Boyle lost to Lex Cath that year and to Highlands twice along with a close call win over Central. They were still good; just not great. That's how I see Bell this year. They were routed by Alcoa and barely got by a Marion Co. team that isn't real good. I don't see them doing much in the playoffs this year once they get out of the mountains and start playing the stronger central KY teams (most likely Boyle or Last years Bell team was the real deal and when they beat Boyle I was shocked. Will they beat Whitley? Most likely. I just like to see the Bell fans get riled up so it's fun to throw a jab out there once in a while. You have to admit that Bell fans are by far the angriest and most defensive fans on this board. Back to the game; I hope Whitley wins; if for no other reason than to chuckle at all of the excuses that get posted. In reality, I say Bell 28-20. So relax and have FUN. I AM!

Just wait my friend you will find out. Bell Co's #2 rusher from last years team is back and plays this Friday. Whats scary for you guys is Bell Co will have alot of games under there belt with the new positions filled come the 14th game of the year they will be experienced.

Marion Co was ranked #7 in state when Bell Co beat them. Bell Co's passing attack is actually better than last years team. I mean we cant help that we didnt play a 1A team this past weekend.

We would too if we got to play the likes of Lynn Camp in week 2. Confusedhh:

Looks like this will be the #2 in 4A against #6 in 5A with the New Bluegrassrivals Rankings that just came out.

Well actually you are wrong it was 2000. I was wrong too saying we had lost twice to them since 1983(it was 3 times), I forgot about 1999. Whitley won at Whitley. Bell had numerous turnovers. But Bell did win the district via a victory over Rock who had earlier defeated Whitley.

CALLING WYMT!!!!!!!!!!!! I would hope someone would show up for the game for more than 5 minutes. LOL I could see them and hope they really hype this game as it is #1 vs. #2 in the ymt poll.

Whitley doesnt just play Lynn Camp for another win.
Its one of the longest rivalries in the state if I'm not mistaken..
Sure we scored a lot of points against them, but its not just for a win.

Bell will take the W in this game. It may be a dog fight at first but Bell has to many weapons. If they can't beat you on the ground with so much talent in the BF with Davenport, Hilton and Raines and maybe some good runs from Mills, and Carton, they'll beat you in the air. Whitley no doubt has a good team this year but they won't be able to beat Bell.

I didnt mean that towards you or Whitley. The other person was talking about how Whitley scores more than Bell and I said why they do. This will be a hard faught game to the end. I just hope my boys come out on top. I would love a blowout win by the Bobcats but I doubt that will happen.

Yeah after I posted that I realized I sounded a little grouchy. haha sorry. didnt mean to.
but I agree, should be a very hard fought game.

look for Carton to have a big game...Bell wins this one by two touchdowns or more about like every year that they have played Whitley..

Should be a great game!Whitley is a much tougher team than last years team. The returning line have a lot more experience under their belts and will be ready Friday night.Whitley also has a stable of skilled players, they should match up with Bell nicely! If Whitley holds the big plays of Bells to a minimum, and not have silly mistakes such as penalties or turnovers, then they should be VICTORIOUS !!! W.C. 33 Bell 18

They may be returning alot but I think that they are still missing a reciever to catch the ball. IMO they will have to throw the ball to beat Bell.

Its going to come down to who wants it more. Whitley has had this Game circled since last season. its just another game for Bell. if Bell stops the run, Bell will win. If they dont stop the run Bell could be in trouble.

Just remember while Dudley has been coach for Bell Co he has not been beat by Whitley Co. The last two times was under Coach Greer at Bell Co. Dudley just knows how to beat this team everytime he plays them. Bell Co's runningback stables are so full they will always have fresh legs running the ball. Davenport, Carton, Hilton, Mills, and Raines.

2007
Bell Co 38
Whitley Co 14

2008
Bell Co 38
Whitley Co 8

I look for this same outcome this year as in the past 2 years. After looking at how many skilled players Whitley Co lost from last year and still could only score 8 points, it shouldnt be no difference this year.
#81
Whitley Co avg 37 ppg last year and Bell held them to only 8. Bells D should be the playmaker in this game again.

If Whitley beats us, you'll not hear one excuse from me. I might say the ref's were terrible but I will also point out the fact that we lost no matter what.
As far as defensive, we are. I get aggravated listening to some of our own posters getting too caught up in thes posts. I did the same thing earlier this year. Once I went back and read what I said, I realized how stupid I acted. But you have to keep in mind this, we take more shots than anyone. I guess because of success and being mouthy ourselves. Here goes something to get started and I don't mean for it too believe me, another Bobcat crew is the most defensive. They come up with the most backhanded compliments for their opponent once they have beaten their Bobcats. Take it easy. Nice talking to you. Be easy on us Bell people. We're not that bad of people.

Bell's defense has really done a job on Whitley the past few years. I look for them and have heard they will follow that same blueprint and play the 5-3 defense again to hault the WC running game.
#84
It does not matter what your team has done last year. it's all about what you are doing now. this game is to close to call. its anyone's game friday night.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Bell does a good job of chaning the defense to fit the opponent. I see the odd front being the best bet as well.

Bell's Defence will hurt Whitley come 2nd half...... Seems like we have a better team after halftime......
I would say.........
Bell 41
Whitley 14
Could get nasty after halftime?????? Bell County seems to beat there opponant physically and MOST teams can't hang with a very hard hitting team...... They just come out and beat ya up!!!!!!!!! Good luck 2 BOTH teams:rockon:

this is what makes high school football.should be quite an atmosphere, wish i lived closer and could be there.i look for whitley to put up good fight but i think bell is too tough.i like bell by 10 points.

Colonels 24 Bell Co. 13 Good Luck Bobcats, you will need it come Friday.

I like your confidence Redstorm. Nothing wrong with believing in your team. It should be a good game. I think Bell pulls away in the late 3rd into the 4th qtr. Bell 33-20.

Last time I remember a Bell vs. Whitley game being this hype was in 1995. Whitley was 7-0 and thought to be unbeatable by their fans. Bell was 6-1 with a defeat to a TN powerhouse. That was the year Whitley was suppose to de-thrown the owners of the district in Bell. They had a ton of talent returning, huge lineman, really good backs in the Lawson boys. WYMT done a live brodcast of the game and hyped it all week. :Cheerlead

It was over by the end of the 1st. Bell was leading 14 then took a 28-0 lead into the half. So much for that. :please:

I think this game will be close but when it comes down too it Whitley can't beat Bell Co. as long as Bell plays.:dontthink

Bell will hit them on every play. This maybe 1 of the hardest hitting teams Bell has had in a while. They still are trying to figure out were to be on some plays but when they get their they bring the WOOD. Most of Whitley's players have not been hit like this in a game. They will find out real soon who Bell Co. is. Jones and Powers found out last year. It is the new guys turn now.

Throw in a little speed and watch out.

Go CATS!!!!
